Ok i do think i meet most of the "requirements" for ADD, from all the research i've done. I set up an appointment with a psychiatrist, wont be til Jan 31st.
Now, if i go in there, and tell him/her "my family doctor put me on wellbutrin, and it only made my attention/focus problems worse, then my family doctor gave me a script for a small amount of ritalin to try, but he told me i would have to go see a psychiatrist after that"
If i lie, is there a way for them to find out if i really did get a script for ritalin from a general doctor? I would like to go in there and say "the ritalin worked excellent, i would take one before class and when i was doing homework and it worked wonders" (i really did get some ritalin from a friend and about 20mg works great but i supposed i shouldn't say a friend gave me some?)
I just want to make sure i dont end up with a script for wellbutrin or any other crap. I know all the stuff to say, about my problems, my attention/focus, i've read the "fake add" thread on bluelight on what to do, is there anything else i should expect going to this psychiatrist? I'm hoping, at least i'll get a small amount of ritalin, then i can go back and say "its not strong enough, i have to take 2, blah blah, but it works great for a few hours."
I'd be happy with ritalin, it works great so i am not that interested in trying to get an adderal or other script. Ritalin does not last long though, 20mg before class lasts..maybe 2 1/2 hours, then it wears off. I'm hoping i can eventually work the doc (if not this doctor, i'll try more) up to something like 20mg pills, 3 times a day or something like that. I'll talk about my attention problems at work during the day and how i need it to last most of the day (maybe not on the first appt. but when the right time comes).
I'll try to act like i know nothing about these drugs, i just want some "help", but should i lie and say my family doc gave me a script for low dose ritalin to see if it helped, to maybe speed up the process? Or should i just forget that part..? How would they know if i was lieing or not?
I had a friend, a girl, who went to her doctor (she was not even trying to get anything) and she told her doctor she has to smoke weed every day in order to study (which is true, for her, she's very strange but very smart) and the doc gave her ritalin without hesitation. The ritalin gave her headache's she likes the weed better (lol), so she gave me her bottle of about 25 10mg's, which...are about gone. I was using them for class, and it worked great.
