Alrighty...I've been meaning to share some of my poetry on here for a while..and just haven't been able to find the time to post...Let me know what you think...
-My True Self-
She rarely makes eye contact.
Only because she's afraid to see inside of them-
Or worse, for them to see inside of her.
She wears bright colors to confuse people-
To convince them she's not one of those psycho girls.
She laughs with her friends and cries by herself,
Pulling the covers over her head where she's safe.
Because thats the only place she's really safe.
People tell her she's beautiful,
Which she doesn't understand,
Because when she looks in the mirror-
She only sees her face.
All she wants is to be part of something special-
To feel loved and be happy.
She spends her days thinking about her life after she leaves-
After she becomes something.
She can't wait to leave this place.
In fact, some days she just drives,
And pictures herself in other people's lives.
If you ever caught her eye she would run and hide.
Afraid that you would see her past.
Afraid that you would see her pain.
Afraid that you would see the truth.
