OK I will tell you what's up because no-one else probably will.
Basically anxiety is seen as a threat to everyone around you, a threat to their whole entire existence. Hence the very negative reactions and your subsequent alarm at this, which only further builds anxiety (it becomes a cycle, a trap).
Now, the reason everyone sees anxiety as a threat and looks down upon it is because anxiety IN ITSELF is a strong questioning of the reality around you. You're always questioning and questioning, and very timid about whether you should jump in and immerse yourself in this corporeality or not.
People get *really* pissed off at this, because they spend every year, every day, every hour, every second, every microsecond INVESTED in that reality. So for you to mock it like that and say "well I don't really want to join that scene" is a complete rejection of their whole existence -- an insult.
These are just the facts, what you want to do with them is up to you. This is coming from a sufferer of extreme anxiety. The real question is: do you want to jump into the pool or not? If not then gather your strength to be a Steppenwolf (there are actually a few of us out there
so there's no reason EVER to fall victim to The Fear, we will hold out until the day we die, in the meantime we will see life from a very unique angle, and possibly have much more joy/misery than the rest).
