Misc My poor battered brain and piracetam

My brain has taken quite a beating over the years through several layers of abuse mainly from HEAVY drinking and benzo use and pretty heavy use of MDMA. To cut a lont story short, it's fucked.

I know some people use piracetam to help 'bring back the magic' of MDMA after abusing it and that it has been used to 'protect against' damage of alcohol abuse.

I guess my main reasons for posting this were;

1) Has anybody tried it for either of these reasons? If so, how effective was it for you?

2) With regards to alcohol erowid claims that it protects against damage, would it have any effect on damage that may have been already inflicted?

3) I was wondering would it be worth mentioning this to a dr and trying to get a prescription? (I am in the UK).

Anyway thank you for any input. I hope someone can advise me as to whether or not piracetam would be the best course of action for what remains of my brain...

I think you should talk to a doctor about it either way.

I haven't seen many threads on piracetam in OD as they are usually in ED/PD for potentiating getting high and recovering or HL for nootropic smart drug effects if I remember correctly.

I've read a little on it before and it is used on label for Alzheimer's and chronic alcoholism but since people say it is a smart drug it would likely be both preventative and aid in recovery for the later.

As piracetam is a drug in and of itself I'll leave it here but it might do better in HL so if no one responds just ask to have it moved.

I abused MDMA heavily and I used Piracetam to recover and regain my mental focus and it also helped motivate me to get all my shit done. It also helped get all my thoughts straight and clear. I never used it with alcohol though cuz when i was using it I was sober.
