My near death/ life changing ordeal ( bad car crash )

it was sunday week ago , the 31st of oct
my mum gave me a lift to get my daily methadone around 9am, not a far trip at all

on the way back , we were in the far right lane , drivin at about 75kph
some dickhead decided to pull out n do a u-turn infront of us , and we were in a small weak car , and we hit a big ford , so it was like hittin a brick wall at 75-80k

all of a sudden bang !!! the whole of the car was inside out , beers shattered everywhere , i managed to tear the door open and drag my mum out , then it started raining , the ambos came 5 mins later , im prety sure theyr was plenty of witnesses

anyway , went straight into hospital at the alfred ( shithole , never go there) had to go straight into surgery because the seatbelt tightening burst my bowel like a baloon , so i had to get a laparotomy(sp?) wich basically just cut out the split part and sew it back together , 8 broken ribs , and sternem

they said was very lucky to survive

was on ketamine/morphine drip for 5 days , and no it not at a dose that fucks u up
though my mum said shed see sum wierd stuff weneva shed open her eyes lol

was stuck in there for 7 days , came home other day , mum goes bak home soon and il prob go stay back there to help her out , plus my cars back there wich il have to drive unreg anyway to get my methadone everyday

all in all this whole ordeal has change my perspective on everything, lifestyle, drug use, job (already quit prety much , gona do a course (something medical) OR me and a close mate stephan are startin our own painting business) , iv already managed to shave of 4 mg off my daily xanax dose in 14 days , from 12mg to 8mg a day . and im gona start weenin off the methadone asap

because i dont think i need it anymore plus the methadone doc is bitching on coz im on xanax as well and if they say its one or the other , the xanax i need more so il just fuck the`done off , il be happy to get down to 2 x 3mg of xanax a day

Good luck with making the planned changes as well in your life, i can imagine that would have been one hell of a wake up call.

If it is only a short trip you might want to consider getting a cab to get your Methadone rather than driving unregistered. You might make a bad situation even worse.

Hi, sucks to read about what happened. If you ever feel like talking to someone who has gone through something that also changed my life, PM is <- that away. Mbike injury in 2006, still recovering, 24/7 pain and "lost" my right arm (I was right handed) for 2-3 years, as in it couldn't move on my "command", it's recently healed enough for me to have some control of it. Pain is still there albeit different. Less of the neuropathic (nerve) damage pain but more of the "stretched feeling/stuffed shoulder pain" resulting from 4 years of not having a shoulder 'attached' to my body correctly. I gave up all drugs, alcohol (still off it for the main, had 2-3 'quiet drinks' in the 4.5 years since the injury, gave up all chem use which I've slowly come back to having 1-2 sessions a year. Tho, I'm on almost daily oxycontin use, mainly for the pain side of things, still use it for a lil bit of fun as it helps keep my sanity. I'd go CRAZY if I couldn't get a release from the pain/lack of movement due to injury.

I had all sorts of wants after the injury, a LOT similar to yours but the limiting factor was/is PAIN and the not being able to move my right arm/shoulder for 2-3 years but it's slooowly coming back, enough so I felt confident enough to be a daddy, 2nd child in on the way, due May next year. I've definitely changed my life, I was always full on ON THE GO, either straight or 'enhanced' since I was 13, 24 years ago. Now I'm spending time smelling the roses and the like. Never did that in the past.

Was in a bad accident with my mum as a kid. We ended up rolling the car 3 times down an embaknment after she lost control on a dirt road. Luckily just came out with cuts and bruises but gave me great respect for cars and what can go wrong.

the first few days out were ok but now the pains gettin pretty pain again

hopefuly get sum endones tomorow , 10mg is perfect for pain releif for me without gettin high n drowsy

and im hapy to say iv shaved another 1mg off my daily xanax dose(x2), round 5mg in 20 days, with no bad effects , i think thats not a bad effort.

mum came home last thurs i think , shes ok. just resting, stocked up with endones n oxys the bitch lol

and yes catty cat ill shall tell her that for you..

shes just abit pissy coz of no cigis in weeks lol but all good

they rekn after xmas we should be back to 100% , not long i guess

also quik question , seeings methadone sorta blocks opiates hittin the ol brain as hard as they shld (am i right?)

I was in a bad accident at the beginning of this year and I have to say for all the pain and trouble it caused I believe in the long run it did more good than bad, it got me to change some things that really needed to be changed. Sometimes it seems life will use extreme measures to get messages across.

I have a friend who was also recently in a really bad accident, and he too said he felt like it was a sign for him to slow down, he's a workaholic and is always on the go but now he's much more centered.

Good to hear you're recovering well, just be thankful you're alive and try and keep doing what you're doing, great job with cutting down the xanax, not always the easiest thing to do.

already quit my job , i told the bloke i work with when he visited me at the hospital already, so im sorta forced to move onto something bigger n better when im fully recovered.

in a bit of pain this morn coz ran outa oxys but got appointment tomoz (countin the hours), feels like iv been kicked by a horse in the stomach .

n ye im proud of being able to cut my xanax dose so easily, tho if somethin happens to piss me off i sorta go str8 into a rage , so sometimes il drop one to calm myself back down to normal if that happens wich is rare these days anyway

In the hospital it took them 3 days to get me my xanax , by the 3rd day i skitzed at a bunch of doctors, psychotic styles , while correcting the cunt prob 10 times over pharm drug shit, hes teln me diazepam is xanax n thats what theyd given me etc i cbf goin fully into it but i shut this guy down a beauty several times.
Meanwhile he had this massive booger hangin out , i told him to "take ur ass home n clean urself up ur makin me sick"

the alfreds a shithole , theyr utterly hopeless , but my last 2 days in hospital were prety funny tho , i had a chick n a guy round my age in my room , we just gave the nurses hell , made 3 of em cry , n one just packed up and went home lol
not bein racist but the only ones that were helpful were the aussie nurses

all for good reason though , we werent givin em shit for no reason , thatd just be mean.

im surprised they let u drink booze in there , my mate strike brang me in a 4 pack of jack daniels n no one said shit , was the best 4 pack id ever had lol

i am thankful to be alive , b4 hand i thought my will to live was long gone , but in the ambo i just remember thinkin i dont wanna die , not like this anyway .

and goin by the look of our car we were VERY VERY lucky to not of died on impact

theyll either floor me n put me in that lovely opiate land for almost 18 hours sometimes ( long duration i know but must be metabolism)

or they wont work

i dbl dosed this morning (70mg) just to make sure they hit nice, and one clonidine that im meant to take for blood pressure n pain , along with my daily xanax mornin dose (2mg today :D )

i went and took 2 of the clonidine the other day and copped hektik rls for 24 hours

was bout ready to smash my hand n feet with a hammer to fix it it was THAT bad

All full agonist opiates are like that IMO, due to inevitable tolerance. Even if you double your dose, sometimes you won't get the high you used to get with just half that.

Doc cut me off my oxy 30s coz i asked for more 2 days b4 iwas meant to run out
9 20 r meant to last me 10 days, but hes the doc i spose..

So in bit of pain last few days, tho got appointment tomoz , prayin for atleast 20's (oc) i actually need em for break thru pain where im layn there screamin yelling that im gonna kill cunts etc etc just coz the pain was sooooo bad , and a triple script of fortes (500/30)..

i tried cwe once again for the pain wen i didnt have oxys or morphien tabs , first time in ages i done cwe, but didnt do shit, zilch , nada , jack shit ( guessn coz of all teh opiatsteez they pumped thru me in hospital..used to do 5-600mg cwe codeine for 12 months str8 until months ago, was more of a boredom thing n watch movies or kick back with real close friend n talk shit etc , neva found it to be mindblowing

EXEPT the first few ceiling doses hit me like oxy believe it or not , layin on bed huggin myself etc for hours then slowly driftin in and out of sleep all thruout the nite lol , didnt skip on day of cweing one day after that ( my livers 200% normal the ppl at hospital said too ) :D, plus the morphine pill addiction that lead to started bootin hamma with my bipolar gf at the time , 2nd last mrs recent mrs from frankston..300mg a hit, , kicked my ass ) thank god they were only rebounds ( the 2 or 3 ex's) .. they were hot but didnt tickle my fancy , i already got my dreamgurll

back to topic...... plus was using the 500/10 codeine pills wich are shizenhouzen compared to the proper fortes , cant believe how desp i was for a high 6 months go , tho thats changed yay sold my car yestday and my loan will come thru soon so gona buy me a mad car ( xr8 or skyline turbo ulehh) (LOL old melb muzza lingo )

THOUGH the 30mg fortes have way more effect n duration imo when doin the cwe method

anythn else is a waste imo , well a waste compared to the high u get from the 10-12.8 mg varietys extracted , tho they stil relaxed me wen was doin it daily to the equivelence to one 2mg zanny MAYBE with tolerance,
just enuff to be take mind off shit for 40 mins, not wasted like iv seen most ppl get that iv made (cwe) for em..

i only did it (cwe) for pain releif and i havent used it recreationaly in ages :D n dont intend on goin bak to that desperate shit lol unless desperate for pain releif or have major headfucks to the point of destruction

cwe, that was my gateway to shoortin smack, oxy 10- 80mg, mscontins etc ( are ms contins orange with 30 on one side and i fortgot wats on the other , was def a strong opiate , blasted me into the land of bliss, was only a few month addiction i rarely mentioned to anyone, was more the opiate pharmaceuticals that got me hookd n they were so readily available in one of our groups.

It was like BOOM! from a year of drought to a nice menu of pharms anytime anywhere , well if u lived s.e side anyway and actually know ppl in the know, .... ppl i used to score weed off are selln oxys now too 5mg-80mg , boxes etc good prices too , bit less han 50c a mg i figured it out roughly. Andn they were always there and close to home , so i sorta went overboard..BUT just on ze methadone nowdays (110mg) tapering down from end of jan :D i wanted to do it sooner n get it off but he said mid jan , early feb we can start dosing down. i just waana get off the crap , prob switch to staight bupe

goin good on the drugs and gettin clean side of things
only things iv touched is 2 points of mad clean shard on nye just coz special occasion
and maybe once or twice more , shards neva been much a problem but the benzo and opiate side of things i been goin good , aint touched opiates , exept daily methadone , for almost a year , no smack , no morphine pills , been over 6 months since last ferral cwe codeine
just the xanax im havin trouble with , tho i do have my good weeks , and they are coming along more often than not now days wich is good , still on 5+ mg a day , but used to be on 12-14mg a day , so its a good improvement imho
bones all better, i think , mums better , her bone (c3)_ i nher neck isnt totaly fused back together but they said its in place and safe to do whatever , but stil take it ez etc
