My life as a bird.
I would flit from tree to tree
in my skittish joyous frenzy,
and the air would feed life to me;
smells and sounds and the knowledge that I'm home.
Home would be anywhere I could eat and play,
and I would call to the world that home is what I'd found.
Simple, elegant, and a stranger to tears;
I would be all these things
in my life as a bird.
