hey i just shot up about a .3 of some black tar in between my index finger and middle finger on my left hand, i went in from the top but hit the vein in between.
i registered when i was a quarter way through the shot it burned really bad, i took the needle out was in really bad pain and now my hand is super swollen up and i cant bend my fingers, it still kinda burns, what happened? do i need medical attention or will it go away? how can i make it go away? thanks please help

The veins on and in between your fingers and very small. You have to inject really slowly into them. It sounds like you either blew the vein or simply fell out in the middle. Hands do not tend to react very well to missing. What did you do with the rest? Apply a hot compress. The swelling will go down. I would say there is no need to seek immediate medical attention unless it gets red and hot to the touch. This would indicate an infection which will require antibiotics. Hope this helps.

Been there, done that. Many times.

You hit a nerve or an artery. Your hand starts burning like hell immediately after injectiong and swells up severely with redness - sometimes all the way up the arm. It feels like you're wearing a puffy tight glove where you can barely bend your fingers. It's very scary the first time it happens, but not likely to be dangerous - it will go away. Still, keep an eye on it for changes.

When you hit an artery, it is in fact VERY dangerous. People lose fingers and limbs from shots like that, usually because they think "it'll get better on it's own," or "I don't want the hospital to find out I'm a drug user, so I'd rather not go."

The hospital will make sure you are safe, rather than sorry. One being a drug user at that point is secondary to them.
