My first time with cannabis

I recently bought some hashish. I wanted to smoke it—I even bought a pipe. I tried every possible way to smoke the hashish in the pipe, but I couldn't get it to work. I saw on BL that you could eat cannabis; I even mentioned this possibility, but someone told me the effects would be too strong for a first-timer.

On Sunday, August 30th, I got home from work around 3:10 PM. I split the hashish between two buttered sandwiches and got ready to eat.
(I had already heated the hashish days before. I put the hashish inside a sealed plastic container, filled a pot with water, and boiled it for about 40 minutes; I had even mixed butter with the hashish inside that container.)

I sat at the table and started eating. I expected it to be horrible, but it wasn't that bad. I had made two hashish sandwiches, but in the end, I only ate one and threw the other away. And I only ate about 80% of the first sandwich. Like I said, it wasn't horrible, but it wasn't pleasant at all; I even felt a slight urge to vomit.

I wanted to get that taste out of my mouth, so I sat in front of the computer and started eating grapes while (probably) watching anime.
But as the episode was nearing its end, I started feeling the effects.

The paranoia was intense and violent; everything made me question things, everything made me afraid. I even heard voices (or maybe I'm just a moron, but I think it was the hashish and not my imagination)—voices screaming and criticizing me. I started feeling extreme nausea and drowsiness. So, I quickly jumped into bed. I fell asleep fast and slept for many hours; I think it took me about 18 hours or more to fully recover from the effects of the cannabis.

Conclusion: I knew I should have listened to that guy who said the effect would be too strong if I ate it, but I never imagined it would be that intense. It was one of the worst experiences I’ve had with substances, but the upside is that it was more of a general feeling of being unwell than something truly terrible. Is it worth trying again, but eating less? Or maybe smoking it instead of eating it?

Here’s a photo so you can get an idea of how much I consumed; I must have eaten about 40% of that hash.
It’s 1:20 AM in my city, so I’ll probably post this thread and won't see the replies until morning or later in the day.

hearing voices with cannabis isn't very common.

a lot of people on reddit are going to say that it's a sign you have schizophrenia. google says that it's not 100% sign you have schizophrenia "Yes, people without schizophrenia can hear voices or experience other auditory hallucinations from using cannabis. This condition is known as cannabis-induced psychosis or hallucinosis. It happens when a person takes a high dose of THC, especially with very strong strains or concentrated vapes."

sometimes people develop schizophrenia that was latent while on or even after using drugs even months to years later.

i'm not really sure. people say if you have schizophrenia that you will get it anyways with out drug use, but if you do develop schizophrenia, drugs definitely make most people with it more confused most of the time and people often end up in bad situations.

what you are describing your high to be like, it sounds like drugs really aren't for you. i have schizophrenia and smoke weed, but it's enjoyable. i hear a lot of positive affirmation voices and sounds and experience a general sense of well being from the high... google search or ask reddit schizophrenia what it's like to take drugs when you have schizophrenia and most people are gonna say it's a really bad time and hospitalizes them eventually. the experience of taking drugs was never good at all for them. some people handle drugs and have fun for a while and then fall off into a place where they aren't dealing with reality correctly anymore. i've been doing recreational drugs for 26 years and only have been hospitalized a few times. never had to go to jail, hurt some one or done anything that was an extreme problem. i'm a minority in the schizophrenic world.

i feel like i had a really good experience using drugs as a schizophrenic to delve into my higher mind and create art. if you were to have some potential with art and genuinely believe your cool with yourself, i'd say maybe it'd be okay to try drugs, but tbh sounds like your body doesn't really respond to drugs... i smoked a shit ton of pretty decent quality weed my first time smoking and was hallucinating and hearing shit, but it was amazingly awesome. i really felt like i had a calling... with what you are describing, i would probably just give up drugs. most people to not make their best art with drugs, but hell i just have to throw this take about why some schizophrenics can use drugs. on reddit it's said to be a hard no.

even if you were to start doing smaller amounts, i could definitely see if you do it frequently or even every so often, the voices could carry over into your every day llife and may get you to the point where you need meds that you might not have... be careful about schizophrenia too even if you stop smoking. read up on schizophrenia in case you start to spiral. it's really not common for voices to arise with cannabis use. you are more at risk for schizophreia than someone that wouldn't hear voices with cannabis use most definitely.

just want to clarify, i'm not diagnosing OP with schizophrenia, just saying there's some potential they could have it and maybe read about it in case they start to develop symptoms. it's best for everyone to be educated about the symptoms of schizophrenia because it sometimes occurs even when other family members don't have it, or at later ages than most people think (late onset schizophrenia).

Salutations,

I held back from stepping in two weeks ago, patiently, wondering how far this could go:

Congratulations everyone! Especially to a pair of moderators (NMi, TDS) as well as the administrator himself, who seemingly ain't suspected a thing...

Well, in case it's still obscure, let me ignite the lights. A "newbie" named 'fastmetro' casually registers on BlueLight, a « Harm-Reduction » platform, mind you! Launches his own dedicated thread without ever caring to participate or even just search before posting, then upon seeing no pushback he finally decides to give this exact same script yet another try, once again.

Why not!! 🌴

Admire what's actually a troll trophy, and this is my remedy for it, by the way:
New Terms of Use rolling out ~Tues/Wed this week (2026-Jul-28)

Pointing out that the 'Cannabis Discussion' forum has turned into an absolute dump where a well-known organized crime group from Brazil can proudly flex its colors. Please wake up and finally realize what's happening here, ladies and gentlemen: that compacted brick is branded by 'Comando Vermelho', nothing less!!

🔫🔪:gun:

In short, it's now quite fair to say that BlueLight now serves as a storefront for organized crime.

Good day, have fun! ☮️

Hi, guy.

Regarding being a newbie: I'm really a newbie to BL, although I'm not a newbie to the world of some drugs (medications). Yes, I have a lot of experience with benzodiazepines, hypnotics, barbiturates, stimulants, opioids, gabapentinoids, SSRIs, antipsychotics, mood stabilizers, anticonvulsants, and maybe even more. However, I only have experience with medications; this was my first experience with a "real" drug, a "street" drug.

Regarding participating or researching: Before posting, I asked several questions to an uncensored AI. And I created my own thread because BL is too huge for a newbie to delve into.

Regarding criminal organizations: Dude, this is public information. On television, in print newspapers, in digital newspapers, on the radio, on social media, and in everyday conversations; it's talked about Comando Vermelho and other organizations that dominate my city.
All major cities in Latin America are controlled by criminal organizations, and this is public information that is repeated every day everywhere. You're not saying anything new here.
My posts are in no way an apology for crime or anything like that. If I wanted to show off, I would post a picture of myself with marijuana on my Whatsapp/Instagram status/stories.

You're paranoid!
