i wrote this the day following a long night with friends where i ended up suddenly depressed for no apparent reason. a close, and after that night, much closer friend of mine and i ended up lying together and talking alone for a good hour or so. i only got 20 minutes of sleep but the next day i felt so amazing and energized, it was wonderful. probably one of the best natural highs that i've ever felt.

---

this torso full of feathers
a poor substitute for flesh and bone
but when our meek bone structures collide
everything seems fine
as we promise eachother that we won't die
yea, let's not kill ourselves
before we get a chance to be alive

my fingers flow through your hair
like the tears from our eyes
as we try to apologize
for the unfortunate surmise
but then you fall off this piece of shit
and it all comes to an end
well, I hope it happens again

What a striking poem. It really spoke to me - I hope you post more!

I think we've all had those rare, beautiful moments in life when two minds and hearts converge in a place that goes beyond the ordinary. When you look at someone and see reflected back at you your own humanness, and it's not so lonely in your head any more because you suddenly realise we're all muddling through with the same basic goal. To be understood and to be happy. And that's beautiful. I am so glad you documented yours, it made me grateful even for those times I've forgotten, because I'm sure those moments must be written still, somewhere inside.

i wish i had had the oppurtuntiy to experience this kind of moment with some friends before it was too late.

this poem is really very sweet. the intimacy was captured so eloquently. i wholly love this piece, for all of it's truth. Welcome!

I always love sharing experiences like these... to me these moments are highlights in a dark world, being able to have someone, who may not have been, very close to you share your pain and theirs with you. These are the moments that make life worth living, that make time with wading through... good stuff, hope your spirits have arose since then!

^he's a liar... the boy enjoys getting stoned more than most sober activity ;)
