So it's snowy and cold here in the Hudson Valley in New York State.

Inside, it is reasonably warm, around 67 F (room temp.) I wear wool socks around the house.

So why on earth do my feet sweat? They are perpetually way too cold, probably due to poor circulation. But they sweat and it makes it 3 times worse! I have to change socks every few hours or so before my feet freeze to death!

Why are they sweating, how can I get them to stop, and how can I keep them warm?

It shouldn't be that hard...

Do you smoke? When I would smoke I noticed that my hands and feet get noticeably colder. Makes sense because nicotine is a vasoconstrictor. I've also recently started taking B-12 and Magnesium supplements in hope that this might help since I've read that not having enough of either of those can cause cold hands/feet. So far I'm only on day 2 and haven't noticed a big change. What does help is my slippers. Good luck.

I live in the same area and I think I have poor circulation-- my feet and hands are frequently cold and my overall body temperature is pretty low.

That being said, it may just be the material that your socks are made out of. I have one pair of Wig-Wam wool socks--they are huge and so warm, but being made mostly from wool, they make my feet sweat. Maybe try a thinner sock of a different material? I just wear shoes around the house to keep my feet warm now.

have you checked your resting temperature (at 5am if you on a normal sleep cycle) and had your thyroid tested?

I took my temp a few mornings ago (it was 11am though) and it was below normal- 97.5 or something like that. My thyroid has not been tested.

are you on any drugs or medications?

why do you have poor circulation?

I'm not sure. I have RA (rheumatoid arthritis) or Lyme disease or both. But my circulation is bad whether or not I have inflammation. Cold hands, cold feet. I'm not a frequent user of drugs.

Mmmm, I just tried for a while wearing thin nylon socks underneath the wool socks, and it works like a charm! Too bad I have only one pair of these socks...

Oh, and by a charm, I mean, now I can feel my feet again. They itch and feel weird from all the frostbite I got when I was outside. Ugh.

I just ate several cloves of raw garlic... maybe that'll help my circulation...

I think it is...

^ Could you elaborate?

Internal fire? Like in a Buddhist monk?

What kind of hormones should I be supporting?

word. i traded my wig-wams for socks by HEAD and that solved the problem. these socks are comprised on the inside of velcro-like loops to keep air circulating and prevent sweat. since air is also a great insulator they are just as warm as the wig-wams :)

I have a really poor feet circulation and I am a healthy young guy. I am also very tall which leads to this problem.

What I found works the best is wearing wool socks, they itch and feel average on the skin, but they do keep my feet arm as opposed to cotton socks.

Give that a go.
