Can anyone tell me if it is usual for the phase 3 liquid 2 turn brown? It is usually an orangey colour but it has turned dark brown whilst in the bottle. It has not come into contact with anything else. Thanks

Are you talking about the Liquid from bottle three turned brown, or did the material being tested turn brown when the liquid from bottle three was added?
If the liquid in the bottle turned brown, I would say it has gone bad. How old is the kit? You might wanna ask whoever you bought the kit from for a replacement!!

Well, have you followed the guidelines? always keep the cap on, keep it in a dark cool place, and so on.. Sounds like it's contaminated, I wouldn't rely on it working anymore.
Did you switch the caps on the tests perhaps somehow?

EZ test does turn brown after some time; this happens also when you keep it in a cool place and away from heat and light.
I don't roll that much so I had it happen a few times.

I don't know if they still worked, I threw them away.
Aj from EZ-Test probably knows the answer, I will move your post to the Pill Testing forum so he can answer it.

The Marquis reagent may turn brown but the Robadope is not supposed to turn brown.
I can only think of mixing caps or something.
Anyway, we will be selling these seperately, just did not have the time yet to set things up.
If there are more people with a similar experience, we really want to know.

Is it possible to have a replacement if this is faulty? I have definately not switched caps etc as i always replace the cap before opening another.

AJ, my robadope also is brown now. Since few weeks, it slowly became brown. But when i add N°2 it take its original color.
Be sure i didnt mix the caps...

Ours seems to go a bit darker as well but it does not seem to affect the reaction. (Not to brown, more a darker red teint)
We'll keep an eye on it.
Any additional experiences are welcome.

my problem is in phase 2 which turned a darker color and had little bits of solids in it.
very weird. it "seems" to be working fine, but i had to filter out the hard material. seems to be something crystalized. could it be from the plastic cap?

If you think life is really good, wait till you hear the REMIX!

my agent has also turned brown. I don't know which one it is (or if there are even different kinds) but I bought it about a year ago for $20. small bottle, red cap.. corrosive warnings on it. It still seems to be reacting properly with pills (ie: supposed mdma turns dark purple/black) but I really have no way of telling since i dont have a correct-color testing reangent. any info on wether or not my bottle is still acurate? hope so. much appreciated. thanks.

sounds like an old ez test. if its a year old i'd say its most likely gone bad. we suggest keeping them for no more than 6 months, regardless of how you store them.

Wow, only 6 months? That's kind of dissapointing, especially since it advertises "testing of ~200 pills." Who do you expect to need to test 200 pills in 6 months? Is there any sort of refund or price break on the ordering of a second ez-test kit? I'd hope so.. if not, I'd suggest putting a note on the information page saying that the test kits go bad after 6 months.

the reagent can go brown over time... this does not affect the reaction..sometimes it is just a couple of drops that were in the neck of the dropper that go dark.. i haven't had any problems with it.
