My elbow clicks while lifting

My elbow clicks when doing most triceps exercises. It doesn't hurt but it is uncomfortable.
What could it be and is it unhealthy? I'm 16 if it matters.

yeh i'm curious too, my shoulder clicks but i just assumed it's the cartilage being squeezed around in there

I have no idea whether this will actually make a difference, but perhaps take some glucosamine & chondroitin.

perhaps you are using too great of a range of motion thus putting more stress on the elbow joint and not the triceps themselves. what exercise/s cause this "clicking"?

edit quit being so opportunistic aeruginosa (inside joke)

I don't think it's less weight because for push downs this never happens. But some machines and head crushers cause my elbow to click. It's not the range of motion because it happens somewhere a little bit after 90 degrees.

I have this same problem, and several doctors have told me it's just a case of "loose joints". I've done a bit of investigating, and it turns out my father has a similar issue with his joints.

I feel like this is a sign of potential damage. It's also the reason I stopped lifting...in retrospect I think it would have been just as effective to go down to very little weight and build up.

Shoulder clicking is usually the sign of a problem with your rotator cuff. There are lots of exercises that you can do to help strengthen this.

As for elbow clicking this is a bit more strange. I would also be tempted to say loose joints but you might want to try incorporating some wrist/grip exercises to strengthen your forearms.
