Normally I dont like rhyming poems. So, I thought maybe if I wrote a few I would open up a bit to the idea. Heres a silly one:
my coffee and my cigarettes
keep my nerves enslaved
to the watchmen they unravel
in my blood and through my veins
my coffee and my cigarettes
keep me rather sane
when my body and my mind
ache to feel the same
I put them both to work
with riddles made of poison
Blame the head and blame the heart
blame them for this corrosion
id rather stress on 'kettles hot!'
and matches I can't find
than love me, think healthy thoughts
and leave them both behind
My coffee and my cigarettes
are a past of wasted thoughts
I could be thinking other things
(wait, is the coffee maker on?)
My coffee and my cigarettes
are lovers in my mind
to watch them part would be a shame
love is so unkind
my coffee and my cigarettes
keep my nerves enslaved
to the watchmen they unravel
in my blood and through my veins
my coffee and my cigarettes
keep me rather sane
when my body and my mind
ache to feel the same
I put them both to work
with riddles made of poison
Blame the head and blame the heart
blame them for this corrosion
id rather stress on 'kettles hot!'
and matches I can't find
than love me, think healthy thoughts
and leave them both behind
My coffee and my cigarettes
are a past of wasted thoughts
I could be thinking other things
(wait, is the coffee maker on?)
My coffee and my cigarettes
are lovers in my mind
to watch them part would be a shame
love is so unkind
