my blog

Im just your average white male finding his identity in todays melting pot called america. I smoked an inordinate amount of weed from 04-10 and am finally starting to get back on my youthful get-shit-done grind. I also dabbled in pharma speed and psychs and disassociatives. My life has started to turn a new page, probably in part to the simple decision of abstaining from green in the mornings before work. lol. I will publicise my accomplishments and emotional or political concerns in this blog, for all those who may read them for some reason.

Im 22, by the way. I work night shift at UPS. Typical job for someone skating by in life, im only staying there a few years more max. It transformed my physique over the course of a year and a half though; the one perk of hard blue collar work.

Welcome to Blogs, Ansem!

Do you drive for UPS? I can see that being kinda cool not having a boss hanging over your shoulder. Night shift is a bit of a drag though. I tried a 12am to 9am job for 3 years and it ruined relationships. Oh well, what can ya do, right?

Looking forward to seeing more posts from ya! %)

No im stuck in the warehouse facility, loading up the trucks. And since its only part time it doesnt destroy relationships, as i imagine a full time night shift would or could. This week i was placed in one of the harder locations in the building, and will be there all week. Fml :D. If the benefits werent so beneficial i would have jetted a long time ago hahaha. Ive been dabbling in reading books and playing guitar more nowadays. The things i gave up when i decided to smoke weed full time, lol. All things in moderation they say, amirite?

I can see how that can keep ya in shape and it sounds like your week will fly by since you'll be busting your ass at the other location.

I kinda played guitar when I was younger but it was more because my parents made me. I HATED practicing. Now that I'm 40 I think it would be a cool little hobby. In your opinion, would it be very difficult for a somewhat bumbling newb to learn how to play? I'm not looking to be some rock star, just wanna maybe kick back and play to relax when I'm hanging by myself.

Hi Overdone. No, learning guitar is not more difficult at 40 than at 16. Buy a classical guitar, they're much more gentle on the fingers and on the ears than a folk one for a beginner. Unless you're all for some electric guitar, then buy a Stratocaster imitation (or a real one if you have the dough! lol).

Good music!

thanks for the tips, lou lou. I don't have the cash at the moment but money comes and goes so when it comes again I think I'll look into a Stratocaster imitation

Yeah a strat is a versatile starting point, you can always mod a strat haha. An ES-300 on the other hand o_o. Dont be one of those people that go out and buy a thousand dollar guitar to learn on. You learn your own personal tone from making due with less than perfect instruments. Though it could still be perfect in yourr eyes. And im getting some from my girl on thursday! She is going away for a week so we are having a go-away celebration, lol. Work has been brutal lately. But the new girlfriend is keeping my head in the game, and i know thats not a worthy thing to rely on. But it still helps get through the day.
