last night i put some dried cubensis in a blender and blended them with lemonade (as to kill the taste). ive done this before with no noticable loss of potency. but this time i couldnt drink my concoction right away (long story). so i put the mix in the fridge overnight. when i went to drink the mushie lemonade today, i barely felt the effects. are mushrooms like acid in the fact that when combined with water for a period of time they lose their potency?? the mushrooms used were from the same batch both times...

Well I think since Lemons have that natural acidity it could have broken down much of the psilocybin.
So my guess is that yes if you do leave mushrooms in a liquid acidic state you'll definately lose much of the magic.
But I'm not 100% sure of this, but it seems logical.

Mushies are psychadelic because of 2 drugs, psilocybin and psilocin. They both have the same effects, but psilocin breaks down easily due to heat or oxidation.
What you did is break apart the mushroom and expose all of the psilocin to air and allow it to oxidixe and become inert. Thus making your shrooms half strength. If you had drank the mushie slushie before the psilocin had a chance to oxidixe you wouldn't have lost the potency.
BTW psilocin turns blue when it oxidixes.. so all the blue streaks on mushrooms is the INACTIVE psilocin.
Also mushrooms quickly build up a tolerance which could account for some of the loss.

Psilocin is not unactive. It has pretty much the same hallucinagenic properties as Psilocybin but less potent. In fact I just read on Erowid that psilocybin breaks down into psilocin after consuming mushrooms anyway.
