Mushrooms before a big day?

We have a three day weekend and I want to shroom this afternoon. I have taken a small dose before, SO has never. I have an eight and want to take like 2g for me, 1.5 for her. We have a leisure day tomorrow whale watching. we have to set out at like 7 am. Would we have a hangover and will this ruin it?

We will not have the option of coming back for 8 hours. Is it a bad idea to shroom today or do you think we could get away with it and have a great day tomorrow?

Psychedelics do not cause hangovers, and you should be fine to fall asleep this evening if you dose this afternoon (so no physical problem).

However, if you're anxious about the possibility of feeling off the next day, this anxiety might influence the flavor and direction of your trip in a bad way, so I would recommend waiting to trip until you have nothing to worry about.

As long as you get plenty of sleep (ie, you don't take them too late in the day) you're fine.

Maybe not for you. I always get hangovers from psychedelics. And I usually don't get much sleep, and feel awful the next day even if I do sleep. Personally I would never do any psychedelic if I had anything important to do the next day.

Whether or not you and your friends will feel well the next day really depends on your individual bodies and how they react to the mushrooms. If you don't have much experience and aren't familiar with how you generally feel the next morning or how long it takes you to get to sleep after you've done them, then I would say it's not the best idea to do them when you have to go out at 7am the next day.

^Define hangover, certainly a lot of people feel off the next day, physically and emotionally drained, and lack of sleep can compound that, but nothing that would stop them from doing something as passive as whale watching. As a big drinker, my definition of hangover might be something more severe than yours (but maybe not, I would like to hear your symptoms, would be interesting to know).

I sometimes have the blues the day after a trip. Sometimes I think irrationally. This isn't to say that psychedelics are bad, its just to say that the integration period is one of the most important aspects of trip. After on particularly intense LSD trip, I was seriously considering dropping out of college. After a couple days, I realized the importance to myself of a higher education.

That's why its great to not only have discoveries while tripping, but to really think them over and even discuss them with others if you feel comfortable doing so.

Mushrooms in particular give me hangovers. LSD never does though. But shrooms make me feels incredibly sick the next day, worse than most other psychedelics. But I always take psychedelics late I the day, so if you get some sleep, ou should be fine.

I know with the way I usually (not 100% of the time but definitely most of the the time) feel after taking most psychedelics NO WAY would I ever want to get up at 7am and go on a boat. I would say many of my psychedelic "hangovers" have been worse than alcohol hangovers (which are also very bad for me). Symptoms generally include: severe headache, very dehydrated feeling, feeling exhausted and completely drained, light sensitivity, nausea, difficulty sleeping or unrestful sleep, grogginess, not wanting to do anything or go out in public, tiredness, feeling clammy, sweaty or just generally gross, etc.

The severity does seem to depend on the particular drug, how much I took, what time of day I took it at, what I ate/drank, and how much sleep I got, but even under the best conditions it's usually pretty bad. Another thing is that occasionally I'll have experiences where the drug lasts much longer than it "should" and I am still totally under the influence the next morning, or often I won't be able able to get any sleep for quite some time, so those are 2 other reasons I always make sure I have no responsibilities the next day. Obviously not everyone is like me, but I know I'm not completely abnormal in getting hangovers from psychedelics.

Do you get it from shrooms though? Because I know heaps of people who do shrooms often and never feel bad the next day, In fact I would say the majority of them feel better the next day, me included even if I hardly get any sleep.

I would say that yes, shrooms tend to usually not be quite as bad as other psychedelics for producing hangovers. It seems to depend on the person, the type of mushroom, how much taken, and other factors. I still personally would never plan anything for the next day just to be safe and have peace of mind. Especially at 7am. Sometimes, ironically, sleeping seems to actually make the hangovers worse. Like if I don't sleep but have something healthy to eat and drink a lot of water and get outside in the sun, I feel alright, like an after-glow for a while. The worst hangovers I've experienced are from ayahuasca (chacruna/b.caapi) and maybe LSD.

Well folks, I'd say some of these explanations are clear indications of dehydration, be sure to drink lots of water or whatever while tripping (PEAs especially can be dehydrating IME). Not that that will eliminate it entirely. In any case, I wasn't aware problems to such an extent were so common.

I ended up not doing the shrooms. Nausea and boats don't mix. Still a shitty whale watching tour. 3.5 to Catalina, no whales, same with he way back. Expensive boat without proper seating or shade. I have 2nd degree sunburn on my face...

Just ground the mushrooms as fine as possible in my Tupperware hand deicer and mixed it with ginger ale and shot it down. didn't mix well but didn't taste bad!

This is what shrooms are all about, if you steady think that your gonna have a good trip then you will, when i do shrooms i make sure i have nothing to think about, (such as school or work the next day or just problems with friends). So yes if your thinking about before you eat em, as soon as you start trippin your gonna tell yourself it was bad idea right from the start. All you need is clear mind for shrooms.

Mushrooms turned out to not be as great as I had hoped. I managed to steer mostly away from fear and guilt but I just felt awkward, like DXM almost. LSD didn't give me a body high at all but I found joy with the right stimulus. With mushrooms it felt like it was just thrust upon me and I wasn't in control of my trip. Other than the popcorn ceiling looking like sea anemone moving with the current, everything seamed pretty passe. The only thing I felt strongly was my very essence being warped to my shifting environment.
