Mushrooms - 4th trip (First Outside) - Slipping into the Sea

29th of July 2004

It was a warm Summers afternoon My friends and i went on a trip to Dunwich, a small sea-side village on the East coast of England. The village was once (many many many decades ago) a thriving township that disappeared into the sea, basically overnight, and has been slowly slipping away since. However it is a very interesting and beautiful place with cliffs, a shingle beach, a forest, some ruins....

There was around ten of us. We arrived at the beach at around half past eight, it was pleasantly warm with very little breeze. We unload the cars (two crates of beer, an oz and a half of shrooms, half oz of weed, lots of firewood, and an acoustic guitar.

It wasnt long before we found a spot on the shingles. We then built and lit a fire, drank a few beers, smoked a pliff or two and ate a handful of mushrooms each (with the exception of one person). Everything was normal for a while but then we all gradually started to come up. The usual sense of unease came over me closely followed by chuckles that that evolved into uncontrollable laughter. By this point daylight was fading, the blue sky became a beautiful twilight orange. Things get a bit sketchy at this point but i can remember touching the stones in amazement at how good they felt, i lied facedown on the shingles and tried to get as close to the stones as possible. I wanted to become one with the beach (corny i know). Strange sexual undertones.

One of my friends complained of nausia and wanted to be alone. Eventually he calmed down and ridiculous laughter insiued for ages, and ages.... (cant beat the laughter).

Firewood was running low so five of us headed from the beach towards the village to find fuel. It took us a silly amount of time to get anywhere. Eventually we found a gate and walked through to a tranquil pasture where some ruins of a church maybe a castle stood, they were lit by halogen lights and surrounded in a fine mist. I started to well up with admiration for them and just had to touch them, which felt bloody awesome. As i closed my eyes i could feel energy and wisdom flowing through my body. We decided to press on and walked alongside a fence, a horse the other side trotted over to investigate, i fed it some grass and admired the unassuming, almost sad beauty in its face. Fed it some more, bid it farewell and stumbled on.

Sometime later we ended up in dense forest, which was not good as co-ordination was limited to say the least. The woods appeared to have flowing walls that were made of strange swirly triangles (these triangles seem to be ever prevalent in my trips) there was more than enough wood about but no one could be bothered to pick any up. It wasn't about the wood anymore, it was about so much more. I'm not sure what, but aimless wondering had never felt so good.

As we walked back towards the others with the branch from a dead tree (the straight head i mentioned earlier dragged it). Someone (a female, from one of the nearby houses who must have heard us and sussed we were tripping <-- I hope) vented a chilling scream. Unnerving at first, but almost so predictable it was soon forgotten.

We rejoined the the group and sat around the fire listening to jonny (who is pretty damn good) play requested tunes on the guitar, the occasional stone exploding under the heat of the fire. I remember holding a joint in facination as it squirmed around in my fingers. I was soon distracted by the stars obove; all the questions of the universe were answered with a single wink.

The sun eventually rose and we gazed into the metalic sea in awe. gradually the mushrooms faded and we drove home. The car was pretty silent during the journey, but everyone was smiling.

(barr one person who is an annoying prat).

After a good sleep i awoke feeling refreshed.

I'm not one of these excentric hippy types, but I cant wait to trip with nature again. My spirit feels reguivinated.

by the way, you shoul have just stolen the wood thats sitting in front of the boat there, lol.

Sounds good, wish we had places like that to trip in ^^

I'm planning to take some shrooms with my gf tomorrow for my birthday and trip outside all night, only done it once before and it was partially inside/outside.

Been feeling nervous, but your report's made me feel a bit better about it :D

That does look like a beautiful place to trip!

Aimless wandering on shrooms is great! I've spent trips walking down railroad tracks for hours, or walking through the woods (I tend to go up, as in uphill, and left, while tripping... its a strange and satisfying urge!)

Also shrooms are often one of the more difficult drugs for me to handle, so walking takes my mind off... well, my mind I guess ;)
