So I took some mushrooms the other day, and not much happened. For about an hour afterward I had a slightly elevated mood, and then that went away. I also felt a strange but barely noticeable bodily sensation that I can't really describe for several hours afterward. But I didn't experience any changes in perception or thoughts, I didn't see any colors, and I didn't feel like was transported to another reality; so I would say that they didn't do what they were supposed to do.

I'd like to know why. I'm hoping that it's just because I didn't take enough; I took a very small amount, maybe like 1 gram or something. I'm not sure what species they were; possibly liberty caps.

However, it's possible that it's due to the medication I'm taking. I'm taking Geodon and Lamictal. The reason I think it might be my medication is because salvia also doesn't have its intended effects. I also don't get as high off of weed since taking the medication.

So why do you think the mushrooms didn't work?

First time I did shrooms i took 3.5g and for me that was the perfect amount. they say drinking milk with it greatly intensifies the high as well and that's what I did. Not sure how much of a role your meds could play, try looking them up or maybe just dont take them the day you plan on doing something.. if possible..

I'm pretty sure that those are both mood stabilizers, so it doesn't surprise me that they aren't interacting well with psychedelics. You should always be careful when combining substances, especially with prescriptions. If it is for bi-polar disorder then track your symptoms to figure out your cycle. Try to schedule a trip at a time when you are comfortable going off your meds for a day. I have actually seen both mushrooms and cannabis used to stabilize a bi-polar personality, but please be VERY careful if you choose to self medicate. MAPS has some good research on the use of LSD in anxiety disorders, but this is mostly end-of-life anxiety in individuals with cancer, or some other life threatening illness. Always, be responsible and safe. Discuss anything that you are comfortable discussing with your doctor, and for anything else read your ass off and become an expert. Above all else, trust your own discernment and judgment. Peace and love.

Geodon is an atypical anti-psychotic?

Well two things:
- anti-psychotics kill a trip, at least the typical ones like risperidone or haloperidol do and probably your medication as well.
- if you have to take these medications in the first place stay away from psychedelics please.
I don't know your exact diagnose but it probably does not mix well with these drugs.
- considering Lamictal, I don't know but mushrooms could induce a bout of convulsions in you if you are prone to such matters. On this I am not an expert but it's the same message as before: your medications suggest that psychedelics are a big risk for you. Either they don't work because of them, or if they do (possibly because you would think of discontinuing your meds - don't!) you could get serious episodes and end up in the wrong place mentally.

That is unless you get a seriously incomprehensible off-label prescription. :)

When I took ps. bohemica for the first time (already experienced with ps. cubensis), I've taken 30pcs with friend in the evening. Nothing happened to any of us. The day after I decided to take the same amount in the morning and was fired to the space. It was the same mush collected at the same spot, 10x10m. Very weird experience. Evening absolutely nothing and next morning brutal bliss. Empty stomach both tries. No medications or anything I could say could cause that.
