Hi everyone, first off, if this is not allowed then please delete the post. I am undertaking the Movember challenge, basically this is growing a moustache for the whole month. I would like to ask for a small donation from members of the BL community. Please do not let my inability to grow a proper moustache deter you from the true value of the charity.

My Movember page

Below is some information on the charities that Movember supports.

Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia
Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia is the peak national body for prostate cancer in Australia. We are dedicated to reducing the impact of prostate cancer on Australian men, their partners, families and the wider community.
We do this by:
Promoting and funding world leading, innovative, research into prostate cancer
Implementing awareness campaigns and education programs for the Australian Community, health professionals and Government
Supporting men and their families affected by prostate cancer through evidence-based information and resources, support groups and Prostate Cancer Specialist Nurses.

Beyondblue
Beyondblue is an Australian non-profit organisation which aims to increase awareness and improve the treatment of depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders and related mental disorders. beyondblue began in October 2000 as a five-year initiative of the Australian federal and state and territory governments after a period of public debate on the treatment of depression sufferers.

Cancer Society and Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand
Health statistics for men are not that impressive! More men than women get diagnosed with cancer and more men die from it. There are many suggested theories about why this is so but one thing we do know is that you can reduce your risk and the sooner you get diagnosed and treated, the better the chances are of having a good outcome.
Website

If you have ever seen a man that suffers from prostate cancer you will know the damage it causes. I wanted my grandfather die a slow and extremely painful death because of prostate cancer, even with high dose morphine patches. I also watched my grandmother stay by his side while the love of her life was suffering with one of the most painful things a man could possibly endure.

Also, while on the subject. If you think that you are suffering from depression, please seek help and push the stigma surrounding men's mental health out of your mind. I know first hand what a struggle life can be at times and that there are resources out there that can really help. Depression, anxiety and other mental health issues and not discussed enough, if you think someone else is suffering, let them know that they have your support.

Thank you for your time.
