This is always a quote I think about when I'm ready to give up hope it helps all the Healthy Blighters out there.

Pain is temporary. It may last a minute or an hour or a day or a year, but eventually it will subside and something else will take it's place. If I quit, however it last forever. That surrender, even the smallest act of giving up, stays with me. So when I feel like quitting I ask myself which would I rather Live with? Facing up to that question and finding a way to go on is the real reward, better than any trophy. - LANCE ARMSTRONG:

about 8 years ago, i quit running because of a string of injuries. when i picked it back up on my own several years later, i wrote my mantra on a white-board in my office . . "don't give up again"

when my training is going well, it's easy to stay motivated. but when injuries force me to spend two or three months on exercise bikes and running in place in the deep-end of a swimming pool, i have to remind myself (kind of like your lance quote above me) that no pain, failure or crappy race has ever approached the way it feels to give up.

good quote, but my memory doesn't seem able to retain room for many regrets. i needed to muster a lot of energy for something today and i remember my mind just kept urging "DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT." that really felt like something to me because i did push on through where i would not have many times in the past.
