Most "Potent" NMDA Antagonist

*shrug* I hear hippocampal lessions are actually rather plesant things to have... Patient H.M. always seemed like a nice guy

He also appeared to feel that being disoriented all the time sucked. :)
Of course, he has become very much a legend in intro psychology literature. I wonder how much of the dramatization is true to life.

Can someone clarify if nitrous is an NMDA antagonist? I have heard and read as much before, but recently when reading one of Stuart Hameroff's papers I wondered whether this was still the postulated mechanism?

Is nitrous an NMDA antagonist: Yes. Is that it's mechanism of either a) anaethsia b) euphroia or c) general experienced produces? a) Maybe a tiny bit, b) probably not c) possibley to a degree

But yeah, it's still postulated, it also somehow effects endogenous opioids, or opioid receptors

Many times, I've seen nitrous oxide referred to as a dissociative..
Shit, I just want to find a decent N-MDA antagonist that I can order after an online "consultation" <- Don't know how these folks get away with prescribing pain-killers and benzos like xanax online, but I like it!:D

Bwitiacumen, why do you want a prescription NMDA antagonist? Are you looking to take it daily to help decrease tolerance to opioids? I really can't recommend drugs that aren't NEEDED. I happen to take an NDMA antagonist, Lamictal 300 mg/day, because I'm Bipolar and it's the only thing that has helped (and helped greatly) with my hypomanic episodes. It wasn't until several weeks after I was taking it that I read about the possibility that NMDA antagonists may help decrease opioid tolerance...and I, through personal experience as mentioned in an earlier post, believe this to be true (to a certain extent).

I don't do oxy or prodine as much as I used to, but whenever I do, yeah, an N-MDA antagonist would come in handy. But, my prime goal is to find an N-MDA antagonist for its effects, with a pinch of opiate to smooth-out the trip and make it feel more like ketamine. Maybe I should look-up overdose info on lamactal.

"I really can't recommend drugs that aren't NEEDED."

Other than using dissociatives/opiates for depression/anxiety that seems hopeless and perpetual, I enjoy experimenting with drugs, especially psychedelics; shamanism, exploration of the mind - the higher self. Dragging out the subconscious to the conscious. Plus, most of the time, it's fun to get fucked-up! :D We experience many things we don't need, wether it be drugs, sex, collecting firearms, reading books, jerking-off - Many things! We have free will, so why not join the circus of life and fulfil our desires.%)

re: nitrous:

If I recall correctly, part of the story is that NOx will disolve in neurons' cellular membranes, thus altering the permeability.

bwitiacumen, I guess I should have phrased that better. What I meant was, I'm not sure if it'd be a good idea to take certain drugs prescribed for mental illness without consulting a doctor...I was in no way referring to taking drugs to get high - I completely condone that.
