Moses was high on drugs: Israeli researcher

This is absolute fucking horse-shit.
Just because the drug existed at the same time doesn't mean it was consumed.
This is pure speculation. That article has about as much credibility as the following:

Extra! Extra! Read all about it! Moses was high on feces! Extra! Extra!

An israeli researcher has just confirmed that Moses had been producing jenkem, due to the fact of the abundance of feces scattered on the mountain. He placed it in his clay jenkem huffing device, let the methane form, and huffed. The experiences he heard supposedly from God are concurrent with the effects of jenkem! (like all inhalants : hallucinations, auditory, visual and olfactory, sensory, feeling of euphoria (which is of course God loving him)

Every single one has something to do with glorifying drugs and making them out to be some sort of hero, when they are in fact inanimate. Drugs really aren't the center of the universe, you know. It's a shocker, isn't it?

I've heard by word of mouth that Jack Herer is working on a book about how all of the world's religions, focusing mainly on Christianity I'm willing to bet, are inspired by people on mushrooms, or other psychedelics. Apparently it's all very plausible, and I know that after taking my share of psyches I'd definitely believe it.

Theres already heaps of books about this.

"Magic mushrooms in religion and alchemy" is one that springs to mind.

also,

http://www.pharmacratic-inquisition.com/ deals with the subject.

I dont think that the idea can be dismissed based on todays views on drugs. Its not like they had the notion that "drugs are bad, mmmkay" back then. Its been said that the ancient greek mystery schools used ergot in its initiation rights. To the hindus, the cow is sacred (we all know what grows out of its shit...), so, if one group of people found something an interpreted the experience to be "divine contact", whats stopping other people from doing the same ?
