Hey, everyone! I just got my hands on a bottle of Morphine Sulfate Oral Solution. It reads...

"10mg/5ML."

This will be my first time ever trying Morphine. Well, I've had it once before but I was in the hospital. I remember it made me very sick, but that was through an IV. However, I'm not new to narcotics/opiates. I'm a sucker for oxycodone/percocets/hydrocodone. To get a high from hydrocodone, I have to take at least 20mg. Same with percocets/oxycodone.

My question is: How much should I take to get a good high? Should I eat before I take it? Also, what is the high like? It it somewhat like an opiate high? (euphoria, makes me very talkative, etc)

Any help would be greatly appreciated <3

It is an opiate, it's about equal in dosage to hydrocodone, although the effects are slightly less heady and more body in my experience. I would probably bump up to 30mg of morphine if i normally used 20mg hydrocodone. But that's just me. It's a little more sedating and nauseating than hydro.

Thanks for the reply, man. Just out of curiosity, how much morphine is too much? Yeah, I'm worried about the whole "nauseous" thing. I tend to have a weak stomach sometimes. Like, if I take 25mg of hydrocodone without eating, I'll get sick. So do you think eating something before I dosed would help with that? I just don't wanna ruin my first morphine high with puking it all up.

Morphine has a pretty low oral bioavailability, low enough that you might need to work your way up to a proper dosage.

Since you've had some experience with opiates, I expect you'll find morphine underwhelming at first, but I wouldn't underestimate it.

Slow and low is the way to go.

If I catch a pretty good and steady high off of 25mg of hydrocodone, is 20mg of morphine equivalent to that? My favorite part of opiates is the euphoria. It's wonderful. So that's what I'm hoping to get from this.

Oxide has a good point. They are equal in blood mg/mg but youll probably need to get up to 30-40mg + to get the same high.

I guess I'll start with 20mg, see how I'm feeling, then dose up if need be.

oral morphine is equipotent to hydrocodone, though it seems the high is kinda different. i never done hydro but i do morphine a lot and i love it find very sedating and relaxing. if you catch a buzz on 25mg hydro, i'd say do 30mg morphine, without a tolerance that's gonna be a nice buzz.

and imo, without tolerance you'd be starting to be too much at around over 60mg, that's where starts stuff like nausea and shit at least for me.

Well I took 20mg about 45 minutes ago and I'm starting to feel it a little bit. Probably because it's been about 4 weeks since I've done any opiates, and I didn't eat much today. It's a weird feeling. I almost feel....heavy? If that makes sense. It's not underwhelming at all. It's very relaxing, though. I might bump it up to 25...slow and steady wins the race.

Yes! Exactly. It was actually almost too overwhelming, and it was making my head feel weird as shit....like in the back of my eyes too...but it's nice. ;)

Morphine is a great pain med & a nice smooth but relaxing high like you guys stated.

For me, 15 MG's of morphine in pill form was stronger than 15mgs of hydrocodone........

First time ever trying morphine, my legs felt like jelly......I thought I wasn't able to hold myself up. Weird feeling definitely.......

If you want to relax & kick back to watch a movie, its awesome! I don't recommend it if you gotta work or do something productive.

It definitely lasts way longer as a pain reliever.

Here's quite a good opioid conversion calculator that may help you with converting doses/understanding how much of X is relevant to what you've taken of Y.

I take oral morphine regularly for chronic pain (spinal damage). It has a terrible oral bioavailability, (~33%). If you were to be in hospital and have it IV'd the usual dose would be around 10mg IV. So the equipotent oral dose is around 30mg.

In comparison I find weaker opiates like codeine & dihydrocodeine to have more of a rush. Morphine, more of a warm fuzzy jacket, quite sedating, arms feel heavy & just content kinda feeling.
