Opioids Morphine Sulfate IVable?

James brown, im not trying to start a fight. What i meant by shooting heroin was as you must know, the rush must drawf anything you feel from shooting oxy.

Actually, I dont think the high from shooting very good quality heroin "dwarfs" the high from shooting oxy. In fact, many times I would prefer the oxy over the heroin becaus the oxy gives me a less sedating high than the heroin for the most part. Obviously I have had heroin shots that felt better than most oxy shots, but I have also had oxy shots that felt much better than most heroin shots. Maybe im different....maybe you are, who knows.....it doesnt matter. The point is that trying to say that someone is wrong about what they experience when they take a certain drug is ignorant.....it's also rude and has no benefit other than to possibly start an argument....so I dont really care if you were trying to start an argument or not, you were succeeding either way.

Also, i was unaware it was possible to feel a rush at all from oxy.

It is very possible. Im glad I was able to teach you something today.

So sorry, but chill the fuck out. Nowhere did i portray anything in anything other than a serious matter. Lighten up like seriously, since when did a lack of comedy mean rude..

I think you are confused....I have no need to "chill out"...nowhere did I get upset or rude, or derogatory. But, when you say that you said everything in a "serious" manner....so what? You can be serious and still be rude, or ignorant. For example, you constantly trying to disprove how I feel when I inject oxy----> ignorant(as well as rude). Even if you choose not to believe me, you still have a responsibility to treat me with respect and acknowledge what I say without trying call me a liar about something you would have no way of knowing or proving.
I also dont need to "lighten up" as all I did was inform you that you are choosing to ignore the FACT that people experience different drugs in different ways, and that, consequently, causes me to get a good rush from IV oxy while you dont. It's quite simple.

Also, to the guy above me (and maybe even to you james) it is quite possible you feel a rush because you are going from below baseline to above. When i was withdrawing, shooting 1 bag of dope would give me quite an intense rush when it would take 10+ to actually get me high.

EVERY rush someone gets is from getting high...."high" meaning...you feel pleasure on a higher level than you were previously feeling before you took the drug. So yes, the reason I get a rush from oxy is because it raises my pleasure(endorphins/dopamine) high enough for me to feel a wave of euphoria. That is how it works for everyone. And as I said, some people experience drugs differently, so maybe you dont get as a high of a pleasure level as I do when you inject oxy. That makes us different in that aspect, it's no big deal....its also not hard to accept, so please, next time, try to keep in mind that everyone is different and can very well experience things(i.e. drugs) differently.

Also....not everyone who tells you that what you are saying isnt true for everyone is being argumentative or needs to "chill out". This is a forum to teach people and promote harm reduction. I was simply teaching you that people are different. I was never hostile, and if for some reason you interpreted my post as hostile, im sry, and you can now understand that was never intended.

I think some people assume a "rush" means quick onset. I've never IV'd anything, so I can't speak of this first hand, but based on what I've read on forums like BL, a quick onset is not necessarily a rush according to majority opinion.

Based on what I've read, a rush seems to refer to the beginning of a high that feels distinctly different than the remainder of that high. It is usually a somewhat brief, localized sensation (i.e. a histamine rush / balloon-head type feeling from H IV, a buzzing warmth in the legs for oxymorphone IV, a beautiful feeling of pressure in one's torso/chest for hydromorphone IV, etc.). It usually seems to change shortly into the 'normal' feeling for that drug, which is a point at which the rush is 'over'.

I have never read anyone describing IV oxycodone to have produced an initial sensation / localized sensation that was clearly different than the remainder of it's high, just that it "hits hard" or "hits fast" with much euphoria. So by the above definition (and seems to be the most accepted definition of what "rush" means), it seems IV oxy does NOT have a rush. But if you're someone who views a quick onset as a rush, then it does for YOU.

But on topic, I'm gonna shoot some ideas for you. Hopefully others can confirm how legit these methods are, I haven't tested them.

1) Get a thermometer. Heat water to the highest temperature possible while staying below the point at which morphine degrades (I'd assume that about 160F would be the degrading temp, so maybe stay around 140-150F?). This water should be hot enough to 'melt' the wax in these pills when you add enough to the crushed pill, thereby avoiding gel and releasing morphine more efficiently.

2) Instead of heating, crush and mix with room-temp water, but let sit for over 12 hours to allow the time-release to to fully release the morphine.

3) Mix the crushed pill with Everclear (99% ethanol / high-proof alcohol). Maybe the morphine is more soluble in alcohol than other fillers? Maybe the almost non-existent water-content will prevent gelling? Maybe the alcohol will fully dissolve the wax? Filter the alcohol, then evaporate to yield (somewhat) concentrated morphine powder. Use this powder for IV solution

Preferably with either of these methods, you would micron filter as the last step before banging. I'm curious if anyone can comment on these methods.

When I say that oxy, in fact, DOES give me a rush....I actually AM talking about a true rush. I have been an IV opiate(mainly heroin and oxy) addict/user for many years and I definitely know what a rush is.
The rush that I get from oxy is about a 10 minute period of extremely(almost orgasmic) pleasurable sensations all over my body and mind. It kind of rushes on with a quick onset, but its not the quick onset that makes it a rush.......its the quick onset mixed with the extremely pleasurable high that makes it a rush. This initial "rush" is very clearly different(and more potent) than the rest of the high that comes after. I just think that some people are different and can get an actual rush from oxy while others cant.....just like I get a great rush from IV fentanyl yet alot of people claim they do not. Like I have said countless times, everyone is different.
