My p. mangmnt doc gave me the choice when I said I was unhappy with the patches or mscontin or methadone I've only bought these off the street a handful of times and really just would like a few people to tell me witch has treated them better and got better results from? And witch can be used recreationally better and safer

Morphine is more recreational but is very poorly absorbed by every way except IV and is prone to producing side effects in some individuals. It's worth a shot if you want to try it.

Methadone is potent and long acting and would probably be better for chronic pain as it also is a mild NMDA antagonist among others. It is much stronger than morphine but is widely considred less recreational. Don't get me wrong though, it's still a very powerful opioid.

Thank you for the help I went with the er morphine and am pretty happy with them and I see that abuse wise neither are great for that so I just do what I'm supposed to with em and they work ok.

I'm really happy they work for you.

Pain control is sometimes a hard thing to get. Its good to hear a happy ending.

As far as pain control goes, morphine always wins. No other painkiller has proven itself to be superior to morphine. Methadone can be great for pain, but morphine is morphine.
