Morphine content of opium ash

Ive heard anecdotes about people taking opium ash (pre-smoked opium), mixing this with water and injecting it (hopefully after filtering).

I saved some ash in water (it seems water soluble) and it tastes very bitter, bitter in the opiate sense. Could it contain any significant amount of opiates?

yeah, injecting any kind of ash would be a real bad idea.

i bet you could get a testing kit and see if there is any morphine left. if there is you might be able to plug it. of course you could get rectal cancer from all the partially combusted hydrocarbons.

I have done this before with heroin smoked off foil. I had some people that smoked some in my house a few days prior and had about 5 pieces of foil stained with smoked tar. Added water and dissolved as much as I could. Filtered and shot it. It got me off a bit i.e. I wasnt sick but not really high also it felt strange, the high that ensued. I would not recommend it unless you are so dope sick it sucks.

I just heard of that happened, and made me wonder if i could make a tincture from the ash?

Again, this is about the alkaloid content of smoked opium, not injecting it...
