i lay here in bed
wishing that you were right here beside me
holding me tight
your arms wrapped around me like a warm blanket
the feel of your breath on my neck
oh how i wish that i could relive that night over and over again
during the night i would wake up
and just watch you as you slept
i didn't want to take my eyes off of you
scared that if i did fall asleep
i would awaken to find that it was only just a dream
i wanted to stay in your arms like that forever
i felt so safe,
so warm,
so loved.
morning came too soon
we both went on our way
and now i am left here alone,
to lay in bed and dream about that one night we had together,
wishing that you were still here to hold me tight
