Thank you.
To the man who drove me home
In his taxi made for truth
When my wings were broken
And i couldn’t fly my way.
An incoherant girl
On the wrong side of clean
On the right side of happiness
Travelling safe on the road home.
I tried to explain my night of hope
But to explain a universe
To someone who never leaves their house
Is so hard.
You smile, you nod
You understand the fact
You’ll never understand.
Not that it matters
Because you live in a world i’ll never experience.
Hey driver what was your name again?
You have five kids
A respectable home
A lovely wife
But are you happy?
Another smile which tells me
Happiness is not important to people who do the right thing.
My self-confessed pursuit for perfection amuses you.
The enthusiastic youth
Conquering a quest you never took
And i know i’ll reach my goal
Cause i never wanted
To do the right thing.
My home approaches
Reach for a wallet that’s not there.
Hey driver what do i do?
I always pull up short.
You brush me off
Claiming an enrichment which i doubt you really feel.
Your parting words of wisdom
‘Don’t fall for the false reality’
My simple words to you,
‘We all deserve to be free’
So let’s return to worlds apart
And pretend we didn’t notice
The chance we may be wrong.
This is for the taxi driver who drove me home after another big night.
I blame him for my insomnia.
