Misc More solution after mixing up than before?

I have noticed, especially when mixing up coke to shoot, I tend to end up with more solution than I put in. Why is this? For example, if I mix a coke shot with 25 units of water, I could pull out 30 or more after filtering with cotton and sucking it back up. I kinda expect the opposite to happen, but this tends not to be the case when I mix up

Probably cut, aka inactive material, is expanding in water.

When I filter an 8mg Suboxone tablet, I end up with slightly more water than I did when I started, but it's a negligible amount.
