Moon Rocks

Ok. I started rolling on Ecstasy in about 1996-1997. This is when white Mitsubishi roll contained high amounts of very strong MDMA. This was all that was available and then the crap meth pills started circulating. Then people started to claim ketamine was in rolls. Thats BS but thats a whole nother discussion. Then Molly began to become more prevalent. Then the meth pills kind of got filtered out by pipe pills. this is right when I kind of stopped my mdma intake or atleast rolls. Then sassafras powder was in the scene for a quick moment. It was white/tan color and was a mellow molly experience.

I fell out of the party scene, festivals ect. Drug use way down. A few months ago I had one 30mg Roxi in me. My buddy showed me some "moonrocks". I said damn check out that molly. It would take me a good amount to get screwed up. He broke me off a little bit. I railed a line. Holy FCK. Felt like the hardest I ever rolled. People around me asked me if I was on Heroin cuz thats wut i looked like. I didnt full out roll but felt it for a good 30 min or so.

So the moonrocks seem to be popping up alot now. Is this the new form of Molly ? The new hot commodity? The purity level from the batch I sampled was primo. Does the moonrock purity vary alot? I remember getting fire molly then molly that sucked ass.
 
Oh yeah, the Moonrock potency/purity definitely varies.

It can have a huge range of % of purity depending on how cut along the way it gets. Some mdma is known to be as high as 86% pure (14% inactive cuts)
However, i also read that there is different isomers of mdma, which is interesting because in the world of ketamine, Isomer Variation has a huge impact on the effects.

But 'moon rocks' can vary in purity easily, Rule of thumb i use after its been tested and shows good results, is to take 100mg orally after a 40 day break (at least) and see where that gets you.

if that 100mg dont get you anywhere, then the chances are that its cut quite bad.


Obviously when you snort mdma it gives you a slightly different effect. Ive never actually done it though so I do not know how that effect feels. (I have never done it because of the fact that the duration of the experience is drastically shortened, and i only dose once so i want the duration to be decent)

If its 85% pure, that will usually mean that its just MDMA HCL, so while technically 15% is hydrochloride salts, it is still 100% pure. 100mgs of that kind of powder, will be exactly 100mgs of MDMA, as long as its not cut with ANYTHING other than the HCL of course, which is not actually a cut at all.

They add it to make MDMA into a stable form, before you do that you have the freebase, which you cant work with for shit.


As for "moonrocks", MDMA is MDMA, if its MDMA and not... not MDMA.

100mgs of pure moon rocks = a 100mg pressed pill = 100mgs of powdered MDMA = 100mgs of "sassafras"

its all the same, as long as its pure. But again, of course, purity will vary. Moonrocks can be cut, but its rather hard. You need to either add the cut when you made the MDMA, or cook it back down to its base, add the cut, and recrystallize it. Not too many people can do that, so it will usually be better than powdered molly


BUT THE ONLY WAY TO KNOW IS TO TEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

rocks like that can EASILY be a completely different drug, same with powder, or any form of crystal. Remember, the pure form of almost every drug is a crystal, you could get anything from meth to MDPV, to benocyclidine and more unknown chemicals.

There have been "moonrocks" cut with methamphetamine floating around my area for a while recently. Good stuff with MDMA in it only is around too, but purity of "moonrocks" and honesty of dealers vary from day to day...

Get it tested either way :/

"Moon Rocks" are fused MDMA Salts. (Smaller Crystals Melted Together)

MDMA Crystals can contain adulterants and can also be hydrated (contain water)

The 84% purity causes a lot of confusion. After a lot of debate on this topic the general impression from members is that its easier to assume MDMA can be 100% pure.

Just for your info I will explain why MDMA can be thought of as 84% pure - The hydrochloride salt contains two molecules bonded together that have an overall molecular weight (mass). The MDMA molecule is 84% of the total mass, the Hydrochloric Acid molecule is 16% of the total mass. The two molecules together form the hydrochloride salt form. 9/10 MDMA is in Hydrochloride form but other salts do exist. If the salt changes the ratio of weights change most other acid molecules are heavier than the Hydrochloric Acid molecule.

To answer your question fused MDMA is not new. It was a technique developed for smuggling purposes and dealers found by keeping the MDMA in larger chunks they had a more marketable product ie "moon rock".

For the reasons mentioned above the purity can varie a lot. Dealers can also refuse crystals with adulterants if they are that way inclined. Unfortunately many are.

Also MDMA pills contain salt crystals. If you look closely at some pills you can see the crystals fused amongst the binders and fillers.

Here is a good example. Note the white crystals that is MDMA just like the "moon rock" crystal you had.

If you got it in Richmond chances are it's not cut with methamphetamine. There have been moonrocks cut with methamphetamine in other parts of VA (namely Virginia Beach) but I haven't heard it of happening in Richmond lately.
