All,
SWIM was a recreational MDMA (6x/year) and Cocaine (1x/month) user. 3 months ago SWIM had a sinus infection, took antibiotics, infection cleared. A week after that SWIM rolled twice in a week.
The first roll was great, but the second was awful. Instead of rolling SWIM felt feverish, achy, sick overall, and just did not enjoy the experience. SWIM came down with what seemed like the flu the following day, and went through the whole flu-like illness for the week after.
The flu like illness cleared, but it left SWIM with dizziness, headaches, a feeling of floatiness, and anxiety that has persisted. Furthermore, SWIM reoccurantly felt like he was coming up again multiple times (buzzing feeling, colors more vivid) over the next two weeks.
Furthermore, over the past 3 months SWIM has developed a number of symptoms, many neurological, that are very disturbing. Symptoms come and go, but there is always something. Symptoms include:
-Joint/muscle pain and fatigue
-tingling/burning/electric current feeling in hands/feet (during day, or wake up while sleeping)
-very jittery (jaw chatters)
-headaches persistent and sever for 2 weeks, now mild, very short lasting – 10 min or less, once or twice a day
-burning sensation in skin
-vision is blurry, particularly in left eye
-ear ringing
-anxiety/depression
-very occasional light flashes in eyes
-brain fog
-cold hands (almost always right hand)
-Swollen/painful tongue
-Chest pain
-Dizziness
-Brain fog
-Ear ringing/pain
-Fatigue – overall exhaustion and muscle weakness/fatigue
-stomach pain
-cramps in sides of stomach
-pain in testicles
-severe depersonalization
-paranoia
-feeling flu like for days
-fine motor skills deficient (SWIM shake when he puts toothpaste on toothbrush, cap on pen, etc.)
-very tight/painful muscles and joints, particularly those of the legs
-skin feels like it is burning occasionally, like a mild sunburn
All symptoms come and go, symptoms are different everyday. Symptoms are very real, and SWIM, who was what most would consider an active, outgoing, fun and athletic young finance professional, now lives a fairly sedentary life since these debilitating conditions began.
SWIM has seen 5 different doctors and been tested for lots and lots of stuff. Other than one doctor who thinks it is possible that SWIM might have Lyme disease (which ALL the other doctors disagree with) the doctors are striking out.
SWIM is unsure about the quality of the drugs he took. He was with a lot of friends, half of whom had a shitty roll, and the other half who had a blast. None are experiencing the same thing that SWIM is going through now.
SWIM has read old posts about people going through similar experiences with MDMA and antibiotics, but SWIM has not been able to contact the posters.
Has anyone on the forum ever heard of such a syndrome or illness immediately after taking MDMA that lasts this long? SWIM has seen so many doctors and is getting no where, it is really affecting SWIMs personal life and he is starting to freak the fuck out.
It is worth noting that SWIM is a fairly experienced user of MDMA. He has done MDMA somewhere around 20 times and has never experienced any bad experiences other than minor depression the next day and/or banging chicks of questionable attractiveness.
Thank you so much for the help!
