Mods, I think there is a case to be made for allowing sourcing, prices and discussion

^I think it is that it doesn't offer anything to HR, but more so that it has a decent chance to encourage members to source better deals through each other.

^^ i dont doubt people will want the cheapest deals possible but BL is kidding themselves if they think sourcing through PMs doesnt occur regardless of the price rule

i cant tell you how many times i have gotten PMs from other BLers who find out my location (i dont make it a secret whwere im at but i changed my location to in my head years ago because of the PMs i was gettin n since changin my location the amount of PMs has decreased but like i said its no secret to most BL'ers n GL'ers where im at) n then attempt to get a hook up (heroin, pills, weed, DMT, K MDMA have all had sourcing attempts from people PMin me)

People seem to think the rules here were just created on a whim.. with no thought whatsoever involved in their creation...

So I especially love it when somebody who has been a member all of 5 seconds, decides to come in and start bashing the rules and how the site functions... Could you be anymore foolish?

:) ...and apparently the mods are all Mormons! That I wasn't expecting, but it made me chuckle! Big substance use issues in the Mormon community, I guess. :)

Yes PM'ing for sourcing still goes down, but it happened a lot more when the price threads and pricing was still allowed.. People would see somebody from their location, see they got dope for x amount, and immediately PM them for a hook up. So, yes it still happens but it doesn't happen as much.

Also, a lot of people were taking the pricing thing too far and it ended up being way too much work for the mods who constantly had to go in and edit posts, issue warning, etc.. so it was decided that the best thing to do would be to get rid of pricing all together.

Haha, yeah. And once a year, all the mods make a trek out to Utah where all the dudes find a new wife. ;)

This is my answer for the pricing issue.

As for kratom, as someone else pointed out there would be conflicting answers on who a good source is. Then we would have to deal with the backlash if someone refers someone to as shite sight, and then people start PMing the mods about it saying they might be from a rival source or something.

Yes, kratom is safer than a lot of opioids, but make no mistake about it the drug still causes addiction and dependence. Just search for 'kratom withdrawal' threads and you will see that it's pretty intense. So that begs the question, where do we draw the line? That's something that nobody would agree on, so that's why I don't think that threads about sourcing kratom should be allowed.

Just a reminder that EADD allows personal quantity price discussion. Bulk prices are not allowed, presumably to avert unwanted attention to people who might post about quantities consistent with supply, but that's a guess, I just work here!

That's saying we should be helping people buy drugs. Bluelight isn't here to help people get drugs, it's to help people who already have those drugs use them safely.

All the information you need is already there for you, finding the drug is up to you.
Price discussion works fine, see EADD

Price discussion works fine, see EADD

Just because something works in one forum doesn't mean that it will work fine across the board. Forum guidelines have evolved over the years based on the current state of each particular forum. Prices were once allowed in all forums, but they began to cause enough problems for moderators for them to decide to prohibit such discussion.

Also keep in mind that the OP is talking about allowing price discussion for legal drugs, which EADD price discussion is not limited to.

Oh that's interesting, I actually didn't even realize that. I wonder how many other mods are not aware that each forum may have different rules about price discussion?

I knew this since I have overlooked EADD as a senior moderator, but I know that a lot of moderators are unaware that EADD allows price discussion on personal amounts (I believe it's either 1/8th or 1/4) which can pose some issues when a thread is moved from EADD into another forum and there were posts made mentioning prices while the thread was still in EADD. The mods may edit and in some cases warn the member for listing prices, when in reality they did nothing wrong.

On the other side of the coin members from EADD might not realized that price discussion is not allowed outside of EADD and might post prices in threads that actually originated in these other forums, thus in-deliberately breaking the rules. A certain amount of leniency should be shown in these cases, but ultimately it's up to each member to read the forum guidelines before posting in each forum.

So, the price discussion being allowed in EADD hasn't caused rampant sourcing? (I've personally never been in EADD once, so I know nothing about it and am just curious) but I would think if talk of personal quantity prices were allowed, people would constantly be PM'ing members from their location who posted good prices, asking for a hookup.

^ It's 'safe or scam', a site that gives some info about the legitimacy of vendors. To check, you have to search the name of the vendor. There's no way to look through the list of vendors, so it doesn't provide any sources itself. You have to already know the name of the site you're checking.

I remember a discussion about this between mods a few years back. I actually thought it had been allowed, but my memory of the discussion is quite vague so I could be wrong.

I am a heroin user. I am going to use temptation or no temptation. I am currently getting adulterated gear from my only source. I am aware that not far from me there are BL members that use heroin and are going to use temptation or no temptation, can source & have access to less harmful unadulterated cleaner gear. I am not allowed to discreetly ask for help in the interest of HR. I am not alone

if you don't give me $20 i'm going to punch you. if you decide to not give me $20, are you not interested in harm-reduction?

you can make (almost) anything sound like it's "in the interest of hr" if you twist it far enough.

bluelight is a discussion forum for the discussion of hr-issues related to drug use and abuse. helping you obtain said drugs (regardless of their quality) is not what bluelight is here for. if you think that's crap, you're entitled to your opinion and i'll agree to disagree. if you don't like it, that's fine - we can live with that.
