Mods/admins please reply; questions surrounding your roles

People seem to mistake moderators for experts on the particular forums they moderate. Yeah, some do have really good knowledge on the subjects of their forums, but their main "job" is just to enforce the rules on Bluelight... closing inappropriate threads, moving threads to other forums, deleting spam, and so on. And no, they don't get paid. If they did, I'd be the first to apply to become a moderator! ;)

I dunno man, to be a Lounge mod, you better know how to fucking Lounge. =D

most of what sweetP said is true - although moderators are often given the job because they have shown excellent knowledge of a subject, they are not always correct and common sense should be used before taking anything posted as gospel.

HOWEVER! admins are infallible. ;)

let's not forget that mods aren't just there to act as fun police - they are also there to stimulate discussion by creating thoughtful, useful, or interesting content.
