When you feel as if you have smoked to much, stop smoking. When you feel it has impacted your life negatively, or if you are doing it inconviently, then stop. Sure, it isn't to hard to come off of, but it is a drug still and can become a regular thing fast.

Most people smoke what their friends smoke.

I agree with pretty much everything, but the problem is that often when you come to that moment where you do realize it has impacted your life negatively, its been quite a while since it started to be that way. So you manage to quit and realize weed occupied a so great importance in your life. You try to fill that void but it was so huge that the boredom wins. You begin to think that you'll never be able to do it without losing your sanity, you become depressed, have anxiety. A few weeks or months later, its not going better. The amotivation is still there, you're bored to anhedonia. You decide to smoke a joint. Just one, only tonight. Back to square one. You begin to smoke a little bit, you tell yourself its recreational this time to stop feeling guilty. You convince yourself that it has no impact on your life. And so on

I'm not saying this is what happens to everyone but I think its a very plausible scenario

The boredom that comes is a slight withdrawal, and fortune is about as worst as it usually gets. The trick is to get active. Laziness often goes with weed use, the trick is to keep yourself busy, fill that bored with someone to take your mind off it! Soon, you won't even notice in after a week or two.

True, but i'm sure the longer the habit, the longer the time to take your mind off it

If you smoke it every day, you are addicted, no doubt about that.

Sure you took breaks but who hasnt

did I say I smoke every day? no I said I smoke NO MORE than once a day, and sorry bro, just because you have addiction problems doesn't mean that we all do,

for instance, I have a friend whos dad manages to hold down a full time job as a professor of psychology at *** (not the greatest education institution known to man but definitely decent for a state school) and smoke what to be frank I would consider massive amounts of weed (I don't know the specifics but apparently its a large habit) and all of this without his family finding out for over a decade

now this isn't something I could ever do, but some people are able to handle it while leading full time lives

also, setting goals for yourself before you smoke is a good idea, sometimes I try to get in X amount of time running or swimming before I toke up, it makes the high that much better

I don't think I'm an addictive person, it's just that if I don't plan ahead of myself I just think "fuck it" and blaze whenever I have the opportunity to, especially since it's a light drug.

speaking from my own experiences, this is where the problem starts. when you take drugs to kill the boredom, you soon start to manifest boredom in your life so that you have more time and more reason to do drugs more often.

Sorry, I didnt mean to judge or anything, I misread your post.

I dont believe someone who has a social/family life can go on 10 years without anybody being suspicious

^ haha, I was just watching "Celebrity Deaths" and they had that Neil Young quote

anyways

I doubt its that hard, I would imagine that after awhile that relatives/colleagues would get used to it

besides, his son and I found out easily enough

Everyone judges you no matter what you are actually doing. Being afraid of being thought of as a potential pot smoker should seriously be the least of anyones worries.

In fact, worrying about your own image is pretty much why girls wear makeup.

Make up sucks because you can't get high off of it.

Seriously.
