Hey ... I'm new to blazing, so I don't know much about it so if I don't understand something, I'm sorry.

I blazed about three times so far, and I love it! However, I don't want to get addicted to it. How should I moderate myself? How long should breaks in between blazing sessions should be? And, how much should I blaze every session?

For example, a little off topic but, I roll too and experienced rollers have been telling me breaks should be 6~8 weeks. I'm guessing these breaks are too long for blazing though ...
 
I smoke no more than once a day (well, except for special occasions) and I have no problems controlling myself, I've gone on breaks for entire months just on whim, but whatever works for you, but chances are without an addictive personality you wont get addicted
 
Yeah I thought like you before too but I smoked for 15 days straight before and had no problem stopping once school resumed for me. Weed isn's really physically addictive.
 
as long as u don't let weed affect the quality of your life in a negative way u should be fine

meaning smoke only when u have no work or school and treat weed more as an addition to a good life, not a substitute for it
 
Ah I see ... how about health and effect wise? Health as in, to what extent would it not affect your daily life, and effect as in how often can you do it so that you get the same effect each time without diminishing its effect?
 
Since people are different, everyone has different limits. Some people can smoke everyday or more and be totally fine and some can't. There is no secret formula for how much of a drug u can do and be fine. U have to be aware of how the drug is affecting u and if u see yourself missing work, school, friends etc cuz of ur usage then u need to cut back.

I know many people think weed is like the gratest drug ever and it's totally harmless. It is one of the lightest drugs but it still has some negative effects. From what I read 1 joint is equal to about 4 cigarettes, so think about what u r doing to your lungs. Weed affects your brain, so things like ur memory, cognition might suffer slightly. Read as much as u can about the negative effects of weed from reliable sites, not from anti drug propagandists. That way u know exactly what u r getting yourself into. I'd try to limit my weed usage as much as possible. Make it an experience, not a habit. If u can experience life well w/o weed then smoking weed will be more special and will never get old. U don't want to come here in a few months or years and make a thread about how weed is messing with your life and how u'd like to quit.

Same with E. I've done a lot of stuff in my days and now strongly believe that drugs should be an addition to a full life not a substitute for it. U have lots of years ahead of u so save E for special times. I think the more E u do the less special it gets. I noticed that people who do E on a regular basis, even with 4-6 week breaks, eventually lose the magic. It makes me think that our brain only holds a limited amount of good E experiences in our lifetime. Do it as little as possible, maybe at most several times per year and each experience will be amazing. Overdoing E can cause memory problems, visual problems, depression, anxiety and more. It's not anti drug propaganda. This is stuff I hear from users on here that went over board. U don't want to learn the hard way.

Yeah, I know these things are just different from person to person, but for me ... I don't think I'm an addictive person, it's just that if I don't plan ahead of myself I just think "fuck it" and blaze whenever I have the opportunity to, especially since it's a light drug. I'm pretty sure it won't be a substitution in my life, and I definitely will try to control myself to not make it a habit. It's just that when I don't plan ahead, I might just do it depending on my mood. When that happens, I'm scared that I'm gonna put myself into the "habitual druggie" who blazes whenever there's an opportunity to.

I guess I just need to research more on it, the negative effects and such. But as for E, I'm only gonna do it at big events/raves for maybe like 5, 6 times per year. I've heard couple people staying that way for 10, 20 years, and although only basing it from one or two experiences is bad, I'd like to believe that ^^;
 
I've been taking huge breaks lately because I'm just going through that phase of wanting to preserve my brain power :) but the only reason I'm concerned is because I've been smoking for quite a while.

Its fine to binge at first, just don't let it degrade your quality of life, and if you get too messed up, and your with mates, try and refrain from doing anything stupid if you're the active - buzz type.
 
I smoked daily for 3 years, up until a few weeks ago and have had no problems what so ever. I nice bag of green would be nice, but i can't afford it sooo....
 
I've been smoking weed for 40 years. I've never given it the kind of consideration that I see people giving it nowadays. people are so much more health concious than they used to be. I've never had any problems with weed. I've always enjoyed it when I had it and it was never a problem when I didn't have it. If I'm out, I don't go fiending around trying to figure how to score more weed. Its not that kind of addiction. I hesitate to even call it an addiction. But, there are a lot of people who would differ on that opinion. for me, it was never a problem. I still smoke it to this day and I still enjoy it very much. I don't see that changing any time soon.
 
Never let it interfere with obligations. During school, I only smoke on weekends. Also, smoking (like sex) is not an emergency. If you are too tired, dehydrated, sick, sad, anxious, lonely, or whatever, do not smoke. If you get to the point where you have trouble running because of your lungs, you have gone way too far.

I never smoke two days in a row. Then you cannot appreciate the afterglow or sobriety. However, when I do smoke, I sometimes smoke several times that day. If you smoke, then take a day off, then smoke again, you may want to take at least several days off (which I did recently). Do not smoke so much that you do not appreciate sobriety. In the end, do what feels right to you though.

Actually, that is bullshit propaganda. 1 joint may have the same amount of tar as 4 cigarettes, but the tar in tobacco is not what causes cancer. Also, even heavy cannabis smokers do not smoke as much as tobacco smokers. Plus, cannabinoids fight cancer.

^Yeah, I actually wasn't sure how much truth is in that. I was actually hoping that someone with more knowledge would comment on it.

So, even w/ daily weed smoking, there is not increase in upper respiratory cancer risk? That's good.

Is the tar in tobacco/weed harmless? if not what are the problems it might cause in weed smokers?

When u say that cannbinoids fight cancer u mean that weed smoking actually decreases one's cancer risk? Do u know any studies that support this claim? I just wonder whether this has been proven in humans. Many chemicals fight cancer in vitro but fail to significant;y to the same in humans in vivo. In vitro means u take human cancer cells, add cannabinoids and they die. In vivo means in the living body.

I recently watched a video from "America's War on Drugs"(I think thats the title) and it stated that our body is full of cannabis like substance that regulate many different functions in the body. That's why weed is a great medicine for many different things, like appetite increase in cancer patients. I would much rather smoke weed to help me with some ailment than take big pharma's drugs.

^The Emperor Wears No Clothes by Jack Herer pretty much debunks every single Cannabis myth there is out there.

You can read it online for free, but the book is awesome to have because it comes in handy at times ;) Even that link that a thing posted was a good read.
 
Don't smoke more than once a week. When I first started out I'd smoke every few weeks. It didn't take long to go from that to smoking three times every day to smoking all day every day.

It is a good idea to keep your toking to a minimum. When I was smoking weed regularly just keeping it to weekends I was still able to balance my college work keeping a 4.0 GPA, my job, and other important things just fine. When I started to smoke every night I ended up running into a lot of problems. Everyone is different though.

The bonus of keeping your smoking to a minimum is that you spend a lot less money, your stash lasts a lot longer, and you can be 100% certain that smoking will not interfere with your life. I don't smoke anymore really, maybe a few times a year, but that is mostly because I know now that I live with a mental illness and when I was smoking every night it brought out my symptoms even more and I had to be hospitalized in a mental hospital.

Pick what seems to you to be a reasonable schedule and stick to it. People will disagree with me when I say this, but weed can cause a lot of problems for you if you smoke it too often. I speak from personal experience and I say this based on what I have seen in both my own life and the lives of people that I know.

As with using any recreational substance moderation is definitely the key. Never slack on keeping your intake of anything in moderation, because for me and people I know, if you start doing things too often trouble can happen. I won't say that it will happen, but it certainly can.

Good idea. I want to add to that/reiterate that you should not smoke so much that you forget, or fail to appreciate, what being sober is like or build a tolerance.

Yep. :D Even if it is extremely overpriced for an easy-to-grow herb (because of the black market), cannabis is way cheaper than most other recreation.

If you smoke it every day, you are addicted, no doubt about that.

Sure you took breaks but who hasnt
