Colorado in November will have on the ballot at least one initiative. Perhaps three. If the vote goes the way of the cannabis users, then cannabis will be completely legal in Colorado. Right now in Colorado MMJ is legal and South of Fort Collins there are over 86,000 registered MMJ cannabis users. However, the feds are sticking their noses in Colorado's business. They are making it tough for those of us that want cannabis legal, just like alcohol is legal. God forbid, alcohol killed my brother and cousin. No one has ever OD'd on cannabis. Perhaps addicted, but nothing but a few nights of no sleep IMO.
Colorado is very stringent in it's inspection of cannabis. To make sure it is pure, no mites or other bugs, and then selling it to the MMJ patients.
When cannabis is legal in Colorado, will be the day the Federal Government steps in and says: "No, it is a Schedule I controlled substance." However, Amendment 10 of the U.S. Constitution gives free reign to the States of the U.S. It is a complicated situation. If passed, persons over 21 will be able to purchase up to 2 ounces of cannabis for personal use. However, then comes, do you own your home or do you rent it. And are you on Section 8 housing. According to the Housing Authority, cannabis is a Schedule I controlled substance and if one is growing (up to 6 plants, three flowering and three vegetative) they will loose their housing, because they go by the Federal Guidelines. If you just rent a house, then it is up to the landlord. If you own a house, then you are in the clear.
I have gathered many of my friends together, and we all plan to vote in November. Whether for or against is of no concern. The concern is the Federal Government vs. the State Governments. Who should trump who. Why was Amendment 10 even created. Why are we voting for another President O'Bama that believes the Federal Government should trump all State Governments.
All I am stating, is we all have the right to vote. So in November, please vote. So many people just sit on their hands and leave it up to the "others". Voice your opinion. Make this Country Great, and Colorado a historical state, being the first state to legalize cannabis for all above the age of 21. It will be an interesting few days in November. Just keep your eyes on Colorado. I hope it makes history.
