mixing weed and Alcohol?

i like this combo. if i'm smoking in a situation that causes paranoia i'm less anxious after a couple 40s and still high as shit. i prefer just getting high but being high at a party or with people i'm not close to can kinda suck cuz of the paranoia bullshit. good combo once in a while.
 
I hardly ever drink. when i do, be at a party drinking a fair bit over a few hours, i am always smoking. in large circles 3-12 heads, never any huge amounts but throughout the night.

never had any problems doing this that i couldnt attribute to too much alcohol/mixing types of alcoholic drinks
 
i don't smoke and drink. i hardly ever smoke weed anymore, though i used to be a pothead. last time i smoked and drank, i hadn't smoked in a couple of months, and i was drinking before, and went to blowing down on a joint with my boyfriend, his dad, and friend, and my ears started ringing and i thought i would die. i haven't ever smoked and drank together again.
 
i love this combo too tho id have to say i find it best to be really really drunk first and to not have peaked with my drunkeness. i do also like to do the drink smoke drink smoke method its good but tires u out
 
I love this combo.

I've never thrown up with it, and it makes a nice combo in public for me. Actually better than either alone, and I'm less likely to throw up my alcohol (the weed calms my stomach).

But I must be in the minority on this.
 
^^^ I know a few who can drink and smoke but they are day to day smokers.

I got fairly drunk at some party where i only knew a few people then a friend started to pass a big joint around. Not long after having a couple of big tokes i got paranoid and spent the next 2 hours chucking like mad. But who wants to think about paranoia, sometimes if you think its gonna happen you make it happen.
When i could manage to stand up i left the pary feeling like utter shit. Bad mistake!

That 'grass then beer you're in the clear, beer before grass you're on your arse' thingo doesn't really make much sense over all. It sorta stems from the fact that if you're already high then most people tend not to drink huge amounts afterwards (alcohol generally takes like shit when high, nor can one be overly bothered by required hand movements). On the other hand, when someone is smashed of their tits that is the stage when their inhibitions are down and they light up.... resulting in being retarded.

I have both been fine, and barely human on both sides of the spectrum. It's not that your body goes 'that's it you broke the witty statement! You drank a beer first! I'm going to screw up real bad now!' and then makes you munt. Yeah I'm ripped.
 
isnt weed supposed to be neuroprotective to alcohol damage after heavy drinking?
 
I only know it's supposed to be neuroprotective against MDMA and it's hyperthermia.
 
^some new article in DitM was talking about how it's protective against alcohol neurotoxicity in rats too...sounded a little too pro-cannabis to me tho...

Yeah, definatley smoke first...Unless all your friends at the party are full out potheads like mine....20 something beers, then a blunt = ick.

Oh, the neurogenesis article. Yeah, alcohol surpresses neurogenesis in the hippocampus and cannabis "may" increase it. It's not talking about neurotoxicity though.
