Is it a safe mixture? I read the big and dandy thread on the SSRIs and so on. I didn't find any info on TCAS though, Are they safe to combine?

I take an SSRI and a Tricyclic Antidepressant. I am on Luvox and Perphanizine/Amitrpytpline.

I am going to be taking hydro type shrooms. I take an SSRI and a TCA. ANy advice?

Will it work well for me? What are some fun things to do while on mushrooms?

i dont think it will work for you, i'm sorry to say.
SSRIs are known to diminish the psychedelic experience...and you're on two of them.
Perphenazine is an antipsychotic and will probably "kill" your trip.

also (you probably know this): DO NOT stop taking your medication to squeeze in a trip.

You will not get high in anyway besides a body load if you take any psycheadlic. (Most) anti psychotics are used to abort trips, and ssris diminish trips. Having both in your system will cause you to not trip. No two ways about it.

The guy with the shrooms is telling me right now on the phone that its a safe combination. Part of me wants to believe that he knows, the other part knows he don't know shit and trying to off his shit to me. Goddamn! What a bummer! I wanted to trip so bad this weekend.

lmfao of course hes telling you its safe, hes going to make money off of you, and laugh when you take a potentially fatal combo and get hurt.

Don't do it. Not even to just see if you perhaps DO get an effect. TCAs potentiate drugs like mushrooms while SSRIs interact in really weird ways most often negating effects but also having the possibility to do very little or make you feel quite bad as I've seen in some anecdotal evidence i.e. short report descriptions.

If you take both of these kinds of medicine the results will be so unpredictable, you should never risk that.

And I haven't even started to mention yet that it is not good to trip when you are being prescribed such things because of the reason you are getting them. The reason for being medicated is virtually always a reason to avoid psychedelics, unless you are a young person being drugged up by retarded grown-up guardians who think that is the answer for you not doing well in school or fitting in properly or whatever. Then still that situation has to be resolved.

Hopefully this is enough answer to your question? You can read more about meds and drug interaction in a thread you can find in the Psychedelic Index (link below in signature).
