I'm a complete amateur when it comes to this stuff so go easy on me,
but I was wondering if when taking different types of opiates one opiate will "clog" if you will the mu opiate receptors so the other opiate can't bind to as many and in effect sort of cancel the effects of the other opiate.
I though this was sort of how methadone and suboxone work but does this happen with other opiates too? Or is this not even how that mechanism works?

It depends which opiates you're mixing. If they're drugs like methadone and buprenorphine with other opioids, then there will be a clog. If they're not, there will be an additive effect.

Suboxone and Methadone with clog and you'll feel no effect. If it's drugs like Oxy, Hydryo, Heroin together, they won't clog...but you'll probably be extremely high or OD.

when i started on opiates, it was always scraping a dose together. i mixed hydrocodone and oxycodone constantly. it's just like taking the equivalent dose of one. in other words, 10mg of oxy and 10mg of hydro feels like 20mg of one or the either. there is no exponentiation or mitigation, IME. just additive--as Chromo says.
