I took a 20mg XR orally (Crushed and mixed with warm water) about an hour and a half ago. I've done this many times but this is my first time in a long period of time (A month or so). I've never had the feelings i'm having right now. I'll feel accomplished and happy then i'll randomly think about how i'm going to come down and feel depressed in an hour or two and it makes me a bit pissed off and on edge. I was thinking of listeining to some nice music and doing some small tasks (Cleaning ect.) to get my mind off of the come down feelings but idunno.

Adderall can make people slightly moody sometimes, depending on your personality. Also, if you recently consumed a large amount of acidic substances, there's a chance it could "kill" your adderall, which might bring on the come down quicker than expected. Some people are more susceptible to this than others though depending on body chemistry. Next time maybe take a few tums 30-45 mins before hand to help potentiate the effects. I think you're just thinking too much about the whole situation though, as you should still be feeling effects if it was taken only an hour and a half ago. This medication does increase your concentration though, and if you're focusing on coming down maybe that's all your thinking about? Try to do something more enjoyable like playing a video game, or just start cleaning. Sometimes I notice if you wait for the magic to happen, it won't happen. You have to actively start doing the tasks you want to accomplish, and then you'll start to notice the effects you're looking for. 20mg isn't an exceedingly large amount though, and if you're trying to seek recreational effects, 30 or 40mg might do you better instead of only providing the type of stimulation people seek when studying.

Back in the day before i was prescribed, 20mg wouldn't have gotten my rocks off for recreational effects. 30 or 40mg would be a minimum at least. Now that i've been taking it somewhat long term though for ADD, i am able to appreciate low dosages of adderall a lot more.

welcome to the world of stimulants. amphetamines (adderall, dexedrine) will cause extreme euphoria and happiness, higher alert, focus and attention span, but it's always too good to be true, within the duration of the buzz, you will just start to feel "down" and eventually can fall into a deep crash into severe depression, and anxiety, body aches. it's not pretty (this is more often with high doses, or people who ffrequently take it or abuse it) I been abusing amphetamines for 10 years on and off now. i used to be high 12+hours on a single 60mg dose, talk my brains out. now im lucky if 60mg keeps me feeling good for 3 hours, the real speedy magic efffects ill never hey back. i even tried just taking it as RXed, i tried taking 20mg every morning, and i always would crash and be depressed a couple hours later. no wonder young kids i know on it get so miserable and emotional after there school day. i have had crying spells many times coming down.

P.S. (Sex, masterbation helps tremendously for the comedown, or if you have benzos handy, food actually levels the crash too and water)

Yep what goes up must come down. It'll come either way, but it seems like you're adding an extra "down" by worrying about it during the high. But feeling edgy is to be expected with amphetamines.

Yup, agree with all the above.. there are things you can do to help the comedowns (am sure there must be loads of threads on this if you have a search) - personally I find that eating (or drinking a can of nurishment, haha), making sure I am really well hydrated, and distracting myself with music/film/book really helps.. something like cleaning would be good too as it'd make you feel better afterwards! I couldn't do it personally, being a lazy slob, but it actually would probably help a lot to know you've achieved something and can relax in a clean environment as your reward afterwards :)

Take care of yourself physically, distract yourself a little and I am sure you will be feeling better soon :)

It sounds like you're still in a honeymoon phase with amphetamines. Are you using amphetamine without using benzos? They go together really great (though I don't advise using benzos, because it entrenches eventual dependence). My preferred combination used to be 30 mg of dexamphetamine to 0.5 mg alprazolam, followed up 4-5 hours later with 20 mg dexamphetaminea, and 0.5-1 mg alprazolam on the comedown, if needed. Adderall is really inferior to dexedrine. You'll experience more emotional lability on adderall than you will on dexedrine.

i cant fucking stand amphetamine comedowns, the high is great, but you need to be prepared for the low.
imo get a nice hot cup of coffee or tea and lay down on the couch, maybe put on some tv.
IME jersey shore + starbucks does wonders for getting ur mind off the comedown haha:)

^^
i wouldn't recommend this advice, as some people may find increased anxiety due to the combination of coffee and the remaining adderall in your system.

i find alcohol, weed, and benadryl all good things to help ease the come down. i don't experience crashes very frequently though, and if i do feel one it's usually not very intense.
