The fever might be completely unrelated and just ocurring because of coincidence.

However, it migt also be an infection gone systemic, which is a VERY bad thing. You need to get yourself to a doctor ASAP. Sepsis is a very serious condition and your life is possibly at stake here, so don't fuck around!

How does the vein look? Any red trace forming along it? That would be a textbook symptom of sepsis/bloodpoisoning, not a requirement though, so even if no line is present, you still aren't safe.

500 mg. Keflex 3 times a day for 7-10 days will do the trick. for now slop on alot of "Black Sav" and cover with thick gauze for a couple days.

so yesterday i went to urgent care. they took my temp and it was 104.5 but i had a sore throat too so the dr assumed it was strept. they gave me a shot for my arm and throat and suggested i went to the ER so i did.

after waiting for 2 hours there i finally got brought in and by then my temp was 98.2 (i had taken advil) the er doctor told me i had pharyngitis and cellulitis. so he gave me a script for 160-800mg bactrim ds (1 every 12 hours for 10 days) and 500mg keflex (1every 6 hours for 10 days)

so i guess in the next few days il see some good results hopefully and be alright

so about 5 hours ago i iv'd 30mg of roxie and im pretty sure it was a missed shot
it registered but i guess it moved or something..

now my arm is hurting and its hot in the spot i hit and my skin feels hard and tight inside and my arm is swollen

i had put a hot compress on it and nothing really happened so i put a cold compress on it and now i have nothing on it but it is hurting pretty bad.

is there a way i could make the swelling go down and prevent this from getting worse?

I missed a roxi before, too, but not all of it. I immediately go to the freezer and use a COLD compress. That is about all you can do besides keeping some pressure on it. But pressure and ice can be applied at the same time.

I thought you were supposed to use HOT compresses. Pretty much every time I do a shot I use a hot compress

Heat helps your muscles and blood vessels to relax and promotes blood flow to help absorb the drug into your system. Cold helps reduce swelling. I'm unsure which is warranted in a missed shot and think it depends on the symptoms you are experiencing but as I said earlier in this thread heat for a few hours followed by cold afterwords makes sense to me in generally.

I don't think you would ever want to compress it.
