Mirtazipine and Valium?

Hi guys and gals,

Im currently taking Mirtazipine for Anxiety/Depression.

I want to know if im safe to take some Valium i was prescribed before the Mirtazipine.

At the moment i want to take it for neck pain. But in the next few months im flying on a 22 hour trip, and want to take it for flying anxiety also.

Has anyone had any experience with taking the 2 together?

Im only taking 30mg (1 tablet) mirtazipine at night.

The valium tabs i have are 10mg each.

I only ask this cause in my Mirtazipine pamphlet/info pack it says to inform my Dr if im taking Benzo's. I have an appointment this friday with my Doc, but today my neck is killing me (previous injury and physio this morning flared it up).

A quick response would be greatly appreciated.

yes i was on mirtapizine and benzos... no bad interractions

I haven't taken valium, but I have taken other benzos with mirtazapine. IMO, the reason the pamphlet says tell your doctor if your taking benzos is because of the sleepy effect mirtazapine has. Taking the mirtaz. with a benzo at the same time could be trouble. Since you take your mirtaz. at night, if you take the valium during the day you should be just fine. However, take half your usual dose of valium the first time, to test the waters.
