Is a quarter of a 15mg mirtazapine tablet okay to take while on 100mg of Pristiq daily?

I *think* that there is always a risk of serotonin syndrome when using TeCAs alongside any serotonergic. If I'm correct about that, daily use of Mirtazapine and Pristiq may be something you want to either avoid altogether or discuss with your doc.

What about the once off use of Mirtazapine for sleep? Or used once weekly?

I'll put it like this: if it were me, I wouldn't be terribly concerned about using Mirtazapine occasionally for sleep while taking Desvenlafaxine, HOWEVER, I just checked and there is in fact an increased risk of serotonin syndrome associated with using both TeCAs and TCAs alongside any serotonergic. With that in mind, I think it would be inappropriate for me to say that it is absolutely safe for you to use both drugs together.

If both of these medications have been prescribed by your doctor, s/he is most likely aware of the risks, but if one of these medications hasn't been prescribed to you and you're concerned about the risks, perhaps you could input both drugs into an interaction checker like this one and asses the risks for yourself prior to taking anything?

Cheers for the info, best to stay on the safe side with this one I think.

grrr8 post there Dane (see what I did there =D )

Think that the question has been answered, and it is a pretty specific question that I cannot see coming up again, so will close it for now and hope that the OP doesn't mind, if you want it to stay open to further discuss this then let me know and I will think about it. Just seems your question was answered and you got the information that you needed so any further posts in the thread would just devolve into a social chit chat thread.

Speaking of social and information threads, check out the new one in BDD
