Mirtazapine for anxiety?

Yeah, they'll help you sleep but some people get pretty unpleasant side effects. Me and my gf both experience some pretty heavy fatigue and bad mood the whole next day after dropping 15mg for night. Something you should probably note too is that mirtazapine can have bad interactions with other drugs, and it stays in your system for a while so be safe and do your homework before doing any other drugs while you're on it and for a good while afterwards. Hope it helps with your anxiety though, worth a try at least.

There is definately wds of taken for a long time. I'm on 30mg a day' been for 5 or 6 years and while it was the only antidepressant that was bearable side effect wise for me tried cting and had an extreme panic attack that wouldn't go away so after a day I went to the hospital and they put me back on it. Any chemical than you take everyday for anxiety is going to have rebound anxiety at the very least once you get off unless you taper slowly.

Update! So the mirtazapine didn't do shit so I had my doc put me back on klonopin. I told her I had a problem taking too many and running out early in the past. I also told her that the lockbox left with a loved/trusted person would not work either tried that. Anyway my point is she prescribed weekly doses so I don't get a month's supply and run out in 3 days, which is good for me. Side note I was also upped to the max dose of zoloft 200mg/day and placed on abilify 5mg/day. i think this combination works for me. I will let everyone know how this works out. Oh btw the klonopin dose is 1mg 3x/day.

The 3-4 weeks I was on Mitrazapine (Remeron) I was either sleeping or eating. I had vivid dreams and dreams within dream. It was a hazy time in my life. I recall times waking up and feeling so hungry it was painful. I wasn't at a point in my life where I could give any one treatment option too long so I don't know what happens after your body adjusts to the initial lethargy. It was intolerable and I found it interesting in general but not pleasant.

The first time I was on Zoloft, it was hell for 3 weeks and then I stepped outside one morning and felt like I was on MDMA (or MDAI because of the sedative nature of Zoloft.) This was before I dulled my monoamine receptors with all the chems I have known and loved. Anyway, it worked long term (took it for 2-3 years at a time) at 200mg/day but the anxiolytic effect is different than benzos.
