Hey guys
Just a quick question
I have been on anti depressants for many many years and I have also used MKAT too
Recently I’ve been told not to do both so the 7g I just bought I’ve been advised not to use because of the mitrazipine
Can anyone confirm this is right or wrong please before I throw it
I’ve always been ok before

Thank you

Looks like a risk for serotonin syndrome. .

I honestly don't know.

Having not long come off mirtazapine I'm always interested in how people get on with it? I found at 15mg it was really affecting my energy levels and possibly making me more depressed. Do you find it has a positive effect?

On the plus side I'm no longer on it so if you're concerned about the combo you can send me your mcat and I'll make sure it's 'disposed of' responsibly 😁😉

I'm sure others will have tried this combo and can advise. I was using methylphenidate to overcome the tiredness the mirtazapine caused and can confidently say this combo was without issues. But as for MCAT, Im sure someone here will have an answer for you.

Take care,

BB

I was on this stuff for the best part of 20 years. It's quite strong, but I think from memory it can be used to treat serotonin syndrome in some cases. I can't remember precisely where that info came from, but mirtazapine can selectively block certain serotonin receptors.

AI view

1. Serotonin overload risk Mirtazapine affects serotonin, and mephedrone strongly increases serotonin release. Together, they can push serotonin levels too high, which can lead to serotonin syndrome, a medical emergency.Symptoms can include:

  • Agitation or confusion
  • Fast heart rate
  • High body temperature
  • Tremors or muscle stiffness
2. Heart strain Mephedrone already increases heart rate and blood pressure. Mirtazapine can add to this by affecting noradrenaline. The combination can put extra stress on the heart, especially at high doses.

3. Unpredictable mood and behavior effects Both substances affect mood and alertness in different ways. Mixing them can cause:

  • Intense anxiety
  • Panic
  • Disorientation
  • Impaired judgment
4. Increased sedation + stimulation conflict Mirtazapine is sedating. Mephedrone is stimulating. That push‑pull effect can make your body react unpredictably.

Thanks everyone
Some sites are saying they have had it without issues
Some people saying different things I found this

mirtazapine is considered very safe when mixed with pretty much anything. it is not an SSRI or MAIO so will not cause serotonin syndrome when mixed with MDMA or Mephedrone etc. It may however increase the effects of other drugs such as benzodiazepenes. The odd thing about this drug is that in high doses, it can be stimulating, but in low doses, it can be sedating. I used mirtazapine a lot over the summer in combination with mephedrone, methylone, mdma, pot, coke, alcohol, diazepam and ketamine with no problems. he used it primarily as a sleeping agent, taking 30mg before bed which rapidly induced sleep after a night of varying substances and dancing. some of my friends noted that half a pill (15mg) was enough to enforce sleep. on a seperate occasion, swim ingested two 30mg tablets and a 10mg valiumbrand diazepam, which sent swim into a 16 hour doze, leaving him feel very drowsy the next day, but nothing more serious than that. I would not however recommend taking mirtazapine with other drugs mentioned such as MDMA and Mephedrone, since it theoretically should block the effects they cause to an extent. swim instead only used it after his night with substances had finished, not at the same time.

I agree
I have a lot of conflicting information on this
Naturally I asked AI before I came here and that’s why I want to ask here for any human that had tried it

I can't give you any firm advice, only if you do decide to take both follow good HR practice, titrate up etc.

There doesn't seem to be many/any studies on taking the 2 together, it's a pretty niche area of study so suspect you may struggle to find anything.

no I haven't, but I was clear that it's AI generated.

it's a fair point about misinformation, however the risk of the info being wrong is in the right direction, it's urging caution not stating that it's safe to use, please share if you have a different opinion.

when I checked the studies cited referred to meth use rather than Mephedrone, with AI noting that there should be parallels despite lack of direct studies

the fact that there's conflicting info means you should be cautious, ignoring the AI slop that gets generated, I'm not sure I would be trusting my life with random contradictory info found on the interwebs.

Phobos is right, you really want to be looking for proper evidence based scientific studies before you draw conclusions, challenge is finding it!

The good question I have now is whether it would go well with metformin to reduce the impact of weight gain. My social worker doesn't think it would work, but I have been reading articles and anecdotes suggesting it might be effective and worth a try.

I think maybe it could work. I will be seeing a doctor on Thursday to see if I can get a script for a trial. I don't want to get fat because that's what may have caused my hearing issues/blood flow/vascular issues in the first place. It could be due to the high blood sugar caused by the mirt. However, I still get these nasty flashbangs or other issues, so perhaps it's possible that it might not be related to that.

Why doesn't SWIY just ask for phentermine?
