So, as a little background info before we embark on this journey, I have EXTENSIVE experience with cannabis and some with a handful of other substances, but my only experience with a psychedelics is DMT and I had a rather high tolerance. I’ll be “tripping” at my friend B’s house with him, S, and A and E will be “trip sitting” (really just being there while not taking it themselves). B and S have more experience with hallucinogens and psychedelics then me as well. We are in B’s nice big open furnished basement, he lives on a hill so we can look out onto his driveway and the river. It was night at the time though. His mom had left for a few days a couple hours prior.

+0:00 B, S, and I just took a recreational dose of Mirtazapine, Remeron. I took 5 45 mg pills and
they each consumed 3.5. We decided that we were going to document the experience as there is very little information and trip reports out there.
A common (medical) dosage of Remeron is 15-45mg a day for referance. (http://www.drugs.com/mirtazapine.html dont attempt taking this drug however if you have any of the health concerns mentioned)
+0:45 a car pulls up B’s driveway, he hasnt even finished taking all of his dose yet (he hates pills) as he exclaims, “fuuuck... whos pulling up my driveway” great, S and I just took ours, no turning back now, and we already realized the slight potential for a bad trip with such an unknown substance (for our purposes at least).
+1:00 Turns out it’s just his mom, who was supposed to be gone but we all feel comfortable with her being here, it shouldn’t effect anything. Our experiment was NOT motivated by her being gone, only a coincidence.
+3:00 We debate smoking some cannabis, A & E are going to regardless, but the three tripponeers can’t decide, I know that it has the potential to sober me up as it has for pretty much any other substance I’ve combined it with, but we also know that THC and psychedelics can work synergistically. We decide to wait until A & E smoke and we’ll decide then.
+10:00 Me and B both agree we might feel a slight headache, it could be total placebo, he notes a feeling of dehydration. At this point we are doing pretty much what we always do in his room, sitting around, playing on phones. I have my laptop as Im writing this. Theres an xbox 360 and tv but we have no interest, I certainly feel a weird anxiety, maybe its just excitement. Who knows, I have fairly severe Generalized Anxiety Disorder (that mirtazapine did NOT affect/help with) as is.
+19:00 I think im beginning to feel something, S agrees but cant put a finger on it and says he “feels it at the tip of his head.” B still just feels dehydrated, just to lazy to go upstairs for water. I feel something slightly similar to alcohol, just a little inebriating, pleasant to be honest, a slight warm euphoric body tingle that reminds me of when oxy first stars making its way into your system, but just barely. A & E also went to smoke and we stayed in. Before A left we was reading some dosage information where 200mg was the very high, heavy dosage end (i was at 225mg), and some where it talked about the effects and how it could be considered more a deliriant in subjective effects and that deliriants are terrifying and can end badly… Thanks man, keeping that anxiety in check. Fortunately i did my reasearch and almost could guess the websites he was looking at and quoting, I tried to put it out of my mind, but I knew i WAS at a high dose...
+33:00 We definitely feel it, undescribable to be honest. S’s eyes feel heavy, B feels lightheaded, they're both very drowsy, i’m not as sedated, I also have some fucking crazy sleeping problems aswell though, so use them as a measure for being tired. The drug is known to cause strong sedation and some reports say that with enough of it that effect grows milder, but don’t take enough (while still talking a lot) and you’ll be out like a rock. I think it is primarily sedative though. It’s really hard to say this for sure however, because my dose was different from theirs, and I simply don’t get tired easy, often, etc. (I come back to write this after the experience. I found that it gave me a sense of couch lock I have never felt before, honestly. It gave me a sense of “being tired” that seemed insanely foreign to me, but totally natural, not muddy and narcotic feeling at all. It did NOT however help me actually sleep. I’m strongly inclined to believe this was a problem pertaining to me and my brain, not the drug. The others had a slightly different experience, but you’ll get to that.)
+36:00 I feel warm as if from alcohol, I also have that weird effect it gives you that feels like tracers, but its more like a ghosting effect when you move your head. (Mirtazapine is known to cause tracers in recreational doses, but I never got any real tracers. This effect grew, but it was more like a whole vision tracer/bur thing.)
+49:00 We just played some foosball to try and stay awake as the sedative effects were becoming a bit stronger. We all felt incredibly heavy, so much so that it wasnt like being sleep deprived but clearly a unique feeling because of the mirtazapine (still not too druggy of a feeling though, for example, it felt like more of a natural induced sleepy state than nyquil). Motor skills had diminished quite a bit by now. I could still hold it together, but playing was still hard, and more so for S and B. No one really cares too much about foosball, who does, but we are all decent and usually play with some gusto to get the fun and competition flowing. When we finished, i sat down and realized it felt amazing, I was so tired and comfy, even euphoric for sure; again, oxy like. The aforementioned ghosting effect is stronger I also realized that things were starting to move around, just very minor shifting and shaking. A water bottle on the table in front of me (far enough away from the wall behind it that they required separate depths of field) began to sort of just wiggle around and stand out to me quite prominently. As i write this i realize the keys on my laptop, backlit, are beginning to have a tracer effect. Its really cool, but way too slight for now to get lost in or anything.
+55:00 I’m starting to notice walls melt, move etc. I did however notice after studying it, that the visuals arent random, they followed the grain of the wood walls for example. I should note that B’s walls are and awesome natural wood with swiss cheese looking knots all over, great for tripping apparently (as B and I found out). But the effects are really odd, when looking at a fire detector, the ceiling around it began to sort of swim around like a liquid. Now, this effect was ESPECIALLY weird because it still wasnt super strong overall, there weren’t crazy visual or anything close, only when you studied a certain spot or object. But it was was so weird, it seemed to defy any logic about how it was occurring. I’ll elaborate, I first noticed it on the walls, where a perfect square section of the wall, was the only part moving. Not the wall around it, or even directly next to the edge of the “square.” It went somehow with the grain of the wood and the planks perfectly as well. This is what caused me to realise a similar effect on the fire detector. So, a perfect, roughly 2 foot (diameter), circle of ceiling around the alarm was moving, like on the wall, with defined edges. Only… this time, i wasnt staring straight at it, level like i was with the wall. The detector was across the room so I was seeing at an angle, it was an ellipse not a circle. What was absolutely baffling was that the visuals surrounding it played by the rules of the angle of my perception as well… I hope that makes some kind of sense maybe. It was as if the actually wood, in a perfect 1 foot radius around the detector was moving and breathing. And no matter how I looked at it, from whatever angle, anywhere in the room, the visuals “adapted,” its like the wood was actually doing what i saw in that set little circle rather than a subjective drug induced visual effect. Sorry to ramble, it was fascinating.
During this time, B went through something I was rather jealous of, for him, the walls turned into “an equalizer type thing that went to the beat of the music.” After further questioning I realized he means more like a visualizer, the walls werent moving to various frequencies in the song, like a bass drop making one part shake or something, but rather he said the whole wall was just sort of pulsating to the beat of the music, sometimes steadily sometimes rapidly and seemingly random and in different areas at once, but he said that even then he could somehow tell it went perfectly with the music. S is incredibly tired and says he isnt feeling much.
+78:00 People showed up, and then they left, this annoyed me a lot as they came to give A a bottle of alcohol, and then overstayed their welcome and were just way too much for me to be honest. I wanted them out, and one of them was a close, debatably closest friend. The effects havnt heightened much, we are going to smoke a few bong packs outside.
+84:00 2 sizeable hits each off a beaker bong with only choice chronic later and my friends had decided they were hitting the hay. The effects werent changing any, HOWEVER, we did all note that the outside world looked some kind of hellish and definitely off. It was dark we couldn't see much beyond range of the light on his front porch. Shadows were dancing, i kept thinking Id seen something as well, off in the dark, faint, but human. I realized it could be shadow people (a deliriant effect we’d been prepared for) I dont know it was or not, but we went inside soon after, for me at least the cannabis had little effect but to calm my anxiety. It’s a medicine for me, and as soon as i smoked I felt no more worries about the drug, my mental state etc. Not because of the anti anxiety properties alone, but because I truly felt like it would safe guard me, as it has in past. Too drunk? tripping too hard? smoke a little. (for me this is, it can really go well with some substances for most people, and im sure it can for me aswell, just havent found the substance.) Cant get that ADD under control?Smoke one. Too high? Well, i’ve never been… so *shrug*
+85:00 Everyones in bed, A & E left, S is out cold but me and b arent quite finished… I get slight CEV’s but they are not pleasant. They are extremely brief (fractions of a second), and are composed of a sharp harsh tone in my ears and an incredibly bright flash of some color. Fuck that, open them eyes up. I was looking at a dark spot, probably a wall, when I suddenly saw an orange, neon triangle draw itself super quickly, then a few more that just appeared and flew around rather than drawing themselfs. So I asked “B, you still awake.” No answer for about 20 seconds, then “holy shit….”
“What?!” I asked.
“Fucking geometry… shit loads and shit loads of geometry K, I know what you mean now.” (I had previously been talking to him about LSD and other psychedelics in general and about the rather common geometry type effects.) He has taken LSD many times and I believe at least a few times it wasnt an RC. So i was surprised he had no idea what i was talking about when I said geometry.
Now he does.
I wrote this last part in the morning, as i was too tired to bother so i dont remember too much after that, but i remember looking for more CEV’s or geometry and not seeing much. I laid awake for awhile as im accustomed to and eventually fell asleep to their snoring.
+1080:00 (the next day, 18 hours later). B was skating and suddenly he said the whole room was twitching at random times and that it was scary, he constantly compares it to the Salad Fingers staticy transition and twitchiness. He said it was very pronounced when it did happen (and this worried me, thinking it could be some kind of brain damage at the neurological level, but fortunately i dont thinks that all too likely at all). He did note though that his skateing was super “on” and he was focused and in good spirits. S and I didnt have any major or pronounced lingering effects
This is all I have for you, I wouldnt say I recommend it as a fun recreational drug by any means (though the euphoria was rather nice), but rather one you could do if you curious, as we were. We were more interesting in the experiment that “getting high” or “tripping.” But as ALWAYS, just be careful.
