Hello , i am seeking for any opinions , thoughts or comments in regards to ADHD drugs, Dopamine and "Mind and Gut".
For sometime i have been trying various stomach remedies and medications in an attempt to relieve discomfort and get back to a normal schedule. I have shifted my faith from the medical professionals i meet with to reading articles to searching random posts and now posting questions myself.
poor introduction aside i will begin. Not long ago i encountered an article while searching for info on Dexedrine and PPI interactions. One or more were simply titled Mind and Gut and explained in more detail about how the stomach reacts with dopamine as well as depression. As we know ADHD meds in the Amphetamine family basically help our brains produce enough dopamine to complete tasks. At some point last year my meds pretty much stopped working.(for me). To make matters worse my stomach is acting up constantly and it hurts worse than ever. I by chance my meds do work , it feels as though all that dopamine is going right in my guts. i have my suspicions of an ulcer but i wont know until i see a GI specialist. One can only search so long before reading the same things over and over and it seems i have just reached the limit of words i can formulate in a sentence. So , this is a problem. I think i summed up what is the last year or so as short as i could but ill ask once more for your thoughts on those topics.
