Migraines from occasional diazepam use?

I'm alive so I guess I'll survive
I've been having a tough time lately (last 4 months).
Been using diazepam on and off, only once having what I would call larger dose (about 30mg).

Because of a mixture of drug use, that only occurs on weekends (eg. MDMA once, shrooms for three weekends and a fair bit of meth about a month ago) I've been using it to comedown, but only small amounts, say 5-10mg, usually on a Sunday.

All in all, I thought I have been keeping everything in moderation, but this last two weeks I've been getting major migraines that wake me at night and piss me off through the day at work.

I guess what I'm trying to ask is, could I allready have what sounds like a slight benzo withdrawal from occasional use over 3-4 months.

On saturday I had shrooms, which was stupid really because I was starting to get the migraines bad just before then (sort of hoping they might help, and they did for about 2 days). Next day I took diazepam as usuall for the comedown, I noticed a pressure that I had in my head was gone.

I've decided that I won't be doing hard drugs on weekends for atleast a month, which is hard for me atm, and just have a few beers through the week. But whenever I have one beer it triggers the migraines.

I've never had any of this before, and I used to drink a fair bit more last year than this.

Migraine is a complex beast at best, fortunately I d0 not suffer from it but know a number of people that do including my partner, so I'm aware its significantly more serious than having what most people would refer to a a headache.

It sounds like you have answered your own question at partially, alcohol is well know trigger for migraine, and you body may have decided to start reacting to it, unfortunately we are all in a constant state of flux with these things, I am atopic to some extent so change in the way my body reacts to certain things is way of life.

My advice in the first instance would be to cease alcohol and preferably all other recreational drugs for at least 6 weeks and see of that resolves the problem, your drug use doesn't sounds like it's problematic at the moment apart from the alcohol, this is obviously a drug and you are now becoming a daily user.

6 weeks is nothing in the grand scheme of things and if all you have to do to be free from migraines is stop drinking then your a luck man, I gave up the booze last year after it became quite serious problem and it really isn't that big a deal from a social point of view.

I would stay well away from benzos if at all possible, just like alcohol its a habit that creeps up on you and before you know it you have a problem which is not easily fixed, your usage at present doesn't seem to be of concern and is very unlikely to be causing the migraines.

You also mention stress at work, this could also be a trigger for you migraines but more concerning is that you are dealing with this by self medicating drugs, having been run into the ground by work this is another area you need to try and resolve, Clearly I know nothing about your situation and we all have bills that have to be paid. I hope you can work something out with this one as its sounds like at least part of the root of your problems.

Best Wishes

Thanks atm, guess I just needed someone to tell me what I knew.

Think I'll stop them all (except weed, I seem to forget about mentioning that I've been a heavy toker for about 8 years, I'll admit that's my real drug problem), atleast for 6 weeks, I think it will be longer if I can do it, just because it would be awesome to feel like my old self again.
