Has anyone ever come across journal articles discussing possible (dangerous) interactions between abortive migraine medication in the triptan family, such as Sumatriptan or Zomatriptan with psychedelic tryptamines or phenethylamines?

First hand knowledge/accounts or speculation from educated individuals would also be useful and appreciated.

There shouldn't be any pharmacokinetic interaction... I mean, a decrease in serotonin release? Might potentiate if anything; if my theories are correct...

A lot of psychedelics are primarily excreted by the kidney, so there shouldn't be a pharmacokinetic interaction....

My wife has taken Sumatriptan and a psychedelic tryptamine within 24 hours of each other (though not at the same time) and had no unexpected reactions.

Thanks for the replies. It was more simultaneous use that I was concerned with.. i.e. if I migraine develops while under the influence of [insert tryptamine/phenethylamine/amphetamine drug here], is it safe to dose with a triptan.

Potentiation sounds somewhat worrying. One main side effects of the triptan drugs is cardiovascular complications.. from rxlist.com:

Cardiovascular: Atrial fibrillation, cardiomyopathy, colonic ischemia (see WARNINGS), Prinzmetal variant angina, pulmonary embolism, shock, thrombophlebitis. (...) Significant hypertensive episodes, including hypertensive crises, have been reported on rare occasions in patients with or without a history of hypertension.

I have no health problems, blood work consistently looks good, and have regular medical examinations. However, I often experience numbness in my right arm, sensations of pressure on my chest, and mild angina, when using triptans. If these side effects are serotonin mediated, there's no way that the above mentioned drugs might aggrevate them?
