Recently, I was bumped up to 300mg of trazadone for sleep, and depression. I was taking 150mg before, and had never exceeded that dosage.
Last night, I took the 300mg for the first time, and had the worst experience of my entire life.
At first, everything was normal, felt sleepy, laid down, listened to some music, and fell asleep, but about 30 minutes later, I woke up and I was tripping my balls off. My head was pounding, everything I looked at was flashing violently, and my peripheral vision was completely black. I could feel my whole body tingling, my heart pounding in my chest, and my face and neck felt like they were on fire.
I was extremely nauseous, so I tried to run to the bathroom and throw up, but I fainted on the floor of the bathroom. After I got up, I threw up several times in the toilet, and lost consciousness on the bathroom floor for a while.
I then stumbled into my living room because I lost all coordination, like I was blackout drunk. I couldn't keep my eyes open or my head held up for more than ten seconds, but i wasn't falling asleep either. I could feel my heart rate vacillating, and my breathing was slowing down and becoming harder and harder.
At this point, my father heard something going on and came into the living room to ask me if I was okay. I gave him a very vague and slurred description of the situation. He told me to come sit down by his desk so he could take my blood pressure and check my pulse. When he did, my blood pressure was 80 over 50, which is fairly normal for me, but my pulse was jumping up and down; anywhere from 40-60 beats per minute.
I went and laid down on the couch and put a wet towel over my face to stop the burning and sweating. About ten minutes later he checked my pulse/blood pressure again, and It was back to normal. At this point, the entire room was spinning, flashing, and doing all sorts of weird shit, and I was feeling more anxious than I ever have. It was like a horrific panic attack, but I was too sedated to panic.
After 30 minutes, or so, I fell asleep and didn't wake up again until this morning. When I woke up, it felt like a severe hangover, but it cleared up after drinking some coffee, taking some Tylenol, and eating a meal.
In reflection, I think that I probably should have gone to the ER, just to be safe, but my father didn't really know what was going on exactly because I was too impaired to really explain, and I severely underexagerated my symptoms, unknowingly.
Do you think I might have over dosed? I know the dose isn't very high, but I can't imagine that it was really anything else.
I should also mention, I take Vyvanse too, but the last time I had taken one was 36 hours prior to taking the trazadone.
